With things happening lately, and some chatters upset, I have decided to start this thread to help show your concern that is directed towards us Mods. This gives you all the chance to tell us how we are doing; things to be done differently, and ideas to improve your comfortable stay in the chat room. As stated in the title, Criticism is welcomed as well. Obviously, it would be censorship if we only allowed you to say nice things about us.(or would it.................) Please keep this thread active, as i'm sure it will grab our attention and will allow us to read what you all, the voice or 4pp, have to say about how things are running for you and will help us mold the way we handle things. After all this is not a static permanent community; it moves and expands according to you.
Thank you, Iront18

We need one or two mods that stay up late; Far too often, the mods end up going to bed before the broadcast is over, and then chat's tardmonkeys start being chaches.

I believe this thread should go in quality assurance.

i think that some mods should be more harsh on some chatters. maybe like as soon as they break a rule, give them a TO, and post the rules. and if they don't come back, oh well

Well, 4PP gets new people pretty much every day and they all expect the same thing. Brad playing the games he has no more interest in playing again. I suppose it would be better if there were a way for the rules to be stated before they even say anything in chat.

some one could make a bot that posts the rules every 10-30 minutes?

mods are way too hesitant
to the point only a third of the people who -need- a timeout -get- one (99% of posts that beg brad to play another game or even -insult- him get ignored)
i guess mods are constantly paranoid that if they timeout for a bad reason they'll lose their modship or whatever

Mods are, I will say this just as Cocyx said- way too hesitant. Perhaps they are worried that they will lose their position as mod. However, losing position as a mod isn't the end of the world. If you lose the 'mod title', you can still be a chatter, there is no loss. If you're only being a mod for the popularity, then I'll suggest you drop the job now and remain a normal chatter. You can still talk to people, you can still talk to the 4PP guys, I'm sure they won't care about you any less if you are, or are not a moderator. Don't get me wrong, there are mods who do their job appropriately, however I just wish that the mods wouldn't be so lenient with the chatters and give them a time out on sight of any rule breaking material. Remember, time-out isn't a ban- and by being given a time out, hopefully, they'll learn their lesson. If not, then the ban hammer comes out.

Well what we try to do is to initially ask people to not do things like demand games. If I see the same person, after the warning, continue to demand games (or use caps, etc.), then I will give them a TO. However, it's a bit difficult to keep track of whom I've given warnings to so some people "luck out", so to speak.
At least for me, I am "hesitant" about handing out time-outs because I don't like to punish people for doing things they didn't know was wrong. One thing I think might be helpful is to simply put the rules in the Channel Info section. That way, people are put on notice.
Good idea? This might also address Cocyx and Miharu's concern about overly-cautious mods.

One thing I think might be helpful is to simply put the rules in the Channel Info section. you can't, justin.tv fu cked that up hardcore. when you try to post a link, it turns into a garbled mess of code.

Yah, i consider Time-outs to be the warning. I agree with that. But then again, each mod has his or her own preferences. We do have general rules for all mods to follow, but the system of actual "punishment" is being worked on. As of right now... just whatever feels appropriate.
And mods, just to let you know, and i am pretty sure you know this, no one from 4pp gives a shit if some chatter whines about getting a time out.
