MAC. Mac's are well, more compatible with todays software versus Vista. THe mac comes with maybe 10 programs pre-installed thats really useful. Its visuals are insane. MAC's by statistics are less prone to viruses and spyware and all that icky stuff.

OP should take away the Mac option on the poll, because PC wins hands down.
Macs are, well they're horrible, horrible machines. They cost a load of money and their hardware is generally inferior to PC hardware you could purchase for the same price of a Mac.
Yes the Mac is more compatible with todays software than it was beforehand, but not so much so as a PC.
Macs are less prone to viruses and spyware, true, but that's only because no one takes Macs seriously, which is pretty embarassing for Mac owners. Plus, Viruses are hardly a problem, I download hundreds of torrents full of illegal games and software, yet I very rarely have a problem with a virus, when I do, I just take care of it, simple.
One of the big problem's with Macs, is that if one component in your Mac breaks, you can't just say, "Oh I'll just replace it with this spare part I have here and buy a new part later on." No, you have to send your Mac off to be repaired, when you have a small business to run, this could be a problem.
Also biggest problem, Macs can't run most games properly, lol, DirectX.

Macs aren't terrible, really. They're just suited for different people. I've had rather good experiences with Macs. They're less likely to freeze up than a PC, and make working on projects easier. While I agree the price ranges are a bit outrageous, it's easy to live up to the price with the features you can do on a mac.
Also shame on you dirty, dirty pirates. Buy games like the rest of us, instead of living like a spoiled gamer.

First of all, you don't buy a Mac for gaming. Saying "Macs suck because they can't run games" is a poor excuse in my opinion. I like Macs because they don't freeze too often and they just work for what I do: music, some digital art and programming. I can't stand Windows any more or at least Vista. Windows is definitely not helpful for programming because of C#, but I won't go into detail. I understand that Macs are stuck with the "Kill the old, bring in the new" way of upgrading and being fixed but I have had good and bad moments with OSX, Windows, and Linux. If anything I choose Linux but that isn't an option so I go for Mac.
And Inquisition... the reason why there are so few Mac viruses is because majority of people seem to use Windows and OSX is so different from Windows that a virus that infects Windows would have to be reprogrammed just to affect a Mac in a similar way. Also I would agree with Dave and actually buy games before you get caught pirating or if anything stop when you get to college.

PC's any day of the week for me. The prices and the lack of gaming on macs doesn't really appeal to me. The only thing I'd really ever want to do on a mac would be to use Garageband or Apple Logic but why do that when I can do the same thing on a PC with ProTools for way cheaper? I definitely wouldn't call macs terrible machines, they're still really good. Just expensive.

I prefer PCs, I don't get how Macs have an edge for graphic design for them.

As a PC gamer, there is no question about it, PC's are much better for what i use them for.

Only games I buy nowadays are the ones I enjoy after pirating them such as Stalker, and Valve games. Oh and multiplayer games, cracked servers are no fun.

Well too be honest, you really can't say which is better. As said by previous posts, Macs and PC's are suited for different types of people. For instance, gaming is better on PCs, but things like graphics design are better suited for Macs. I personally love Macs (especially Macbook Pros), but because I play a lot of games for the PC, having a Mac wouldn't really be efficient for my uses.
The PC is also getting a lot of competition lately, as many colleges require or support Macs just as equally as PCs. Microsoft is even selling rights to their software to Macs; you can buy Microsoft Office for Macs, etc.
Truthfully, I would say that Macs are better for things like office tasks and graphic arts, whereas PCs are better for more advanced tasks like games. It really depends on what you use your computer for.
