I prefer PCs, I don't get how Macs have an edge for graphic design for them. It is really a misconception. The only way you could argue that is because of the memory management is different or if you take into account OS X only software, which doesn't really apply to graphic design apps. I personally prefer OS X for it's stability, better management, and GUI GUI GUI. Once of the best interfaces there is.

i use PC's, and prefer them for a lot of things. BUT, that doesn't mean that Mac's are horrible. In fact, i love them. while i wouldn't use it for gaming or for fun, when i've had to do school work i found it much easier on my friend's Mac then my PC. but, in the end, both are fantastic, just it depends on what you're using it for, which should in the end deciede what computer you buy, not the fact that Mac's tend too be a lot more expensive.

PC, because its the only choice if you want to play games from 3 years ago that dont cost $50 new, and alos because, at the risk of being hated by the 21.7% of ppl who chose mac so far, the mac interface insults my intelligence, it's user friendly for retards

Mac.
I used to have a PC but it was forever freezing and asking me to send off bug reports, and I just got sick of it.
On my mac the only programs that have ever failed on me are parallels desktop and word, both Microsoft programs.
And macs don't get viruses.

I own a PC and prefer it over Mac anyday. We have Macs at school for film editing (I go to film school) cause they have Final Cut but it's not that much better than Adobe Premiere. I think Macs have better design on the hardware itself but PC is much better on software and the use of programs etc.

my macbook's been pretty amazing to me. if you take some time to learn about everything it can do for you in a split second, it's well worth it. As for saying the mac interface is an "insult to your intelligence" is like saying a game controller should be difficult and not intuitive, because convenience is for retards. everything really flows with a mac, and i havent had any trouble for the 2-3 years i've had it.
i grew up using PCs, and i still use them regularly, but i realized there are usually more steps in doing things compared to macs. a PC, if properly maintained, is a great machine but almost everyone i know aren't keeping up with check ups and they're waterlogged with viruses and lag.
macs are simple, efficient, intuitive, and stable for those who aren't interested in using their computers for programming or use it as a game system.

Mac v PC is all a matter of what you need your computer to do.
If you need graphic design or audio mixing tools, Mac is better suited for it, because there are good programs made for it. That's not to say, however, that you can't do amazing graphic design on the PC, it just takes a little more effort.
PCs, however, are functional and better for nearly everything else.
When it comes down to it, I'll always pick the PC. It's a jack of all trades, and I like having options.

*sigh*
I've argued about this on so many differnet sites, and I really don't want to get too far into it again. Long story short:
Graphics/Animations/Art = Mac > PC
Games/Work/Advanced Stuff = PC > Mac
They're both suited for different people as mentioned before.

I personally use PC more often although I use Mac and school and I have to admit there are many things I love about it. As others have said if Macs had better game compatibillity I would buy one definitly

I used to laugh at the Mac just because I used Windows at home, and my old school's computers use Mac, and I'd go home relieved that I didn't have to deal with the ugly Mac interface.
Obviously, things would have been changed by now. From what I know so far, if someone asks you "Should I get a Mac or PC?", you don't give them an answer just from that. You gotta ask "what do you want a computer for?" If they plan on editing videos or something like that, you could recommend the Mac. If they're just there for a large collection of games, then it's the PC.
For that, I'll skip out on the vote here. And no, I don't have any of the latest Mac, nor have I ever gone on one. I'm trying not to be biased.

The biggest difference for me when it comes to getting a computer is the price, and being both a gamer and someone who needs to use 3d rendering/graphical design for work, I lean towards the PC side for the huge difference in price. My laptop is a $1000 Sager which had the same specs as a $2,800 Macbook Pro. Hooray for unheard of Asian manufacturers. My friends with more expensive macs have more trouble even getting their adobe products to run well. Same deal with my custom built desktop, $1,000 several years ago for a comparable $2,000 Dell with no Mac machines to even compare to hardware wise. I just don't really see the point, unless it's what you're used to using. But I even grew up using Apples and Macs.
Form follows Function.

when i got into filmmaking during my first years at college i was sat down in front of a mac for the first time, in 2 hours i could do more on it than i could in years of working on pc's. since then i got my own top of the range Imac last year and just hate when ive ot to use a pc instead. For what i want its fast loading, handles lots of programs at once and i have a whole post prod. suite on there, i just import footage and i can do pretty much anything on there.
Plus i installed xp office on a separate partition on the terabyte hd so if i ever want to play pc games i just restart the mac and hold alt, simple as that.

You know... I'm pretty sure that most people say PC, because they don't own a Mac. Ya'll say Mac's can't do gaming, but if you look at the new iMac's specifications, it's perfectly capable of playing video games... although the price may be out of reach.
Also, because PC's are much easier to use, is why most people own them.

Also, because PC's are much easier to use, is why most people own them. The new iMac might have the specs for it, but there's a reason that Macs can't run games. They use an entirely different code. Basically, to make a Mac version of the game, you would have to take the PC version and completely redo every single bit of it. Developers like developing for the PC because frankly, it's easier and there are more people using PCs.
