Well, I don't 669, I'm a christian and although I don't go to church every saturday and sunday like most people would and probably do believe if they don't go they're going straight to hell. But I don't believe that... I figure and this may sound kinda stupid but I don't believe that I'm damned because I'm not going to church on a regular basis. I go once a month and that is all. Yes I pray at night and I go to the bible and I talk to god when I'm not happy especially with him and that may sound ridiculous but it's what i've done, it's what I've chosen to do. And although other christians shake their fingers at me and spout at things like"You shouldn't do that! Karma, karma, don't speak to our lord like that! ect ect.. My response to them is He's my lord too and I'll say whatever I want, my life, my choice and if the almighty wants to strike me down and smite me then he'll do it. Btw he has a sense of humor, he knows me and he has ways of getting me back.
669, I respect and I admire you for your choice in believeing in the "Cold dark universe." Could you please explain or tell me a little bit about it or have you already done that?

Well, than all i can say is, wait till we die, and if i'm right, i'll meet you in heaven, and laugh in your face ^_^. If i'm wrong, well, than you'll know you were right, and you can probably meet me again in some form of life, if you believe in something like reincarnation or something. Thanks for the useless evasions. Your contributions to this topic make me want to make love to you all night long, sweet Suzie. As much as i would love to take that offer, i can't right now. I'm doing evasions because i've told you why people believe in god. It's a belief, hope, will. Obviously, you don't believe and i respect that. THat's what you believe, maybe because you were raised hat way, or maybe you just don't want to believe in god. |

Yeah I rather believe in a so called "Cold Dark Universe" than in a book filled with a bunch of violence, hate, discrimination and death that contradicts itself and it's supposed to be the word of God who is the almighty cosmic overlord that forces us to obey to him or we will have to die and suffer for an eternity and we have to prove our loyality to him through going to his church every sunday and feel sorry for beeing human, deny the most fun in life and oh, donate money to his cause of course. No thanks. Where in the hell does it say that we have to worship him as he forces us to or else we die, and have to go to church EVERY Sunday, and donate money, and feel sorry for being human, and deny most fun in life? God accepts anything we do. And he'll forgive us for the greatest of sins. I'm sorry, but that was one hell of a moronic statement to religion. I don't know if you were exaggerating but if you were, that was really stupid. Maybe you should actually read the bible before saying that? |

669, I respect and I admire you for your choice in believeing in the "Cold dark universe." Could you please explain or tell me a little bit about it or have you already done that? Well, first of all you just mainly believe in God and think that whatever you do it's ok as long as you believe in God and go to church and all the regular things you usually do in life, but in reality you just take the things in your religion that works for you and adapt them to your life and the things that don't work for you, you just ignore. Therefore you don't actually follow your God that well, that's realy the main issue is that most religious people are quite ignorant of the bible among other things and just go with the flow realy. And I for one don't go spreading the good word and whatnot of the "Cold Universe". I'm just an atheist, I don't believe in any higher power and that's about it, I don't meet with other atheists and talk about the universe or anything. |

Maybe you should actually read the bible before saying that? Maybe you should actually get valid information before posting about it. I've taken 7 years of religion and CCD classes. Worship God or die and suffer and eternity of suffering? Go to church every sunday? Feel sorry for being human? Donate money all the time? I don't know were you got this information, but whoever told you is a complete idiot. 1. "Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never be forgiven" - Mark 3:29 2. The church asks you to go the the church every sunday 3. Um, yeah remember that the people got kicked out of paradise because of we used our so called "Free Will" and we're all stuck on Earth here and have to feel sorry because of our "Free Will" that God gave us in the first place. 4. I didn't say donate money all the time, I said donate money to his cause which again the church asks you to do. All the paintings, statues and golden bling bling in the Vatican didn't just appear there from nowhere. And no one told me this, I try to find information out for myself. |

Not exactly 669, I don't believe that everything I do is okay. Now, I do have my faults, my flaws and although I don't live and die by the bible unlike most it doesn't make me any less of a being. If you would have read my first few posts above this page you'll see that I mentioned I'm opened minded to other religions. My friends have different religious backgrounds and although it may seem like i'm ignorant when it comes to my god because I don't follow the bible word for word doesn't necessarily mean that i'm going to hell. Remember the bible was written a long long time ago before you and I were born. Who is to say that since the world has changed, the universe has changed and people have changed that god hasn't? Things happen every day, things change.
Now I'm going to ask another question, do you think the poor that believe in god or in a god is going to hell because they don't go to church or haven't heard of the bible?

Actual facts. BUT, we don't HAVE to feel bad for being human. It's a sin all of us commit to for the actions of Adam and Eve. The church does ask you to visit church everyday, but only because of the benefits it can give. They aren't COMMANDING you to. They are simply saying, it's be beneficial if you did. They probably don't expect you to come everyday. Blasphemy is the disrespectful use of the name of one or more gods. People who don't believe in god aren't committing blasphemy. Therefore, you are not forced to believe/worship in god. |

Again, the bible was written long ago but it doesn't say that you should change your ways, that's your own thinking, mostly it's just another thing that shows the bible is wrong. And I just believe in the Big Bang theory if it's not familiar to you it is to date the theory that scientists have come to that shows how our universe was created, I don't know if it was that way but it does seem like the most logical theory to me. |

Respect what? The big bang theory, or my "belief" in it. I couldn't care less, don't try with your sympathy here saying you respect my beliefs, I dont have any. I don't respect religion for good reasons, since it gives power to people who don't deserve it, it corrupts people and causes deaths and has caused millions of deaths already. I also don't respect the fact that a lot of coutries give religion free will pretty much, instead of keeping it neutral as it should be. I'm not trying to take away anyone's beliefs, I just don't think their beliefs should have control over other people that don't desire it. |

Your belief in it and I do believe that the big bang did happen. And I'm not being sympathetic, i'm being kind. I didn't say you had to believe in the same things as I do. And you are right there are people that use religion in the worse ways possible and they shouldn't but as one single person, there isn't anything I can do whether I want to or not.
they say "one person can change something but who is to say that everyone will follow that one person? We live in a world full of different religions, different beliefs, people good and bad, those that think their way is right when they could possibly just as well be wrong. Now I go back to what I said the first few pages. I won't know who is right and who is wrong until I'm well dead and gone.
