My favorite anime hands down is Kuroshitsuji. Great storyline and keeps you wanting for more. Too bad the anime is full of fillers as well, but the characters grow on you. The anime is VERY artistic as well, since it's set in Victorian London. THIS IS NOT A YAOI. Just letting you guys know.

My favorite anime has to be Wolf's Rain x3 I enjoyed it a lot, but was dissapointd at the way they put it together. THey could have told the story in a better way. Also it was too short O.O

One is obviously Evangelion. How can you not love that show. It raised the bar. Second is Shoujo Kakumei Utena. Just like Eva, it's a mind fuck of a show, highly sophisticated and metaphysical. Very surreal. Almost everything in the show can be taken as symbolic, with extremely complex character profiles.

Jeez, what happened to this thread?
Anywho, I've stumbled across a new anime, K-on. very cutesy anime. I think Juan broadcasted it? I don't remember.
And I have a question. Does anyone remember the title of the anime on Japancast with the girls and the swimsuits, and the beach and watermelons?

I don't have any particular order but here is my favorite anime.
A.) Full Moon wo Sagashite
The demographic is for young girls but I was able to appreciate. The finale always stirs up my emotions and makes me cry. This anime is about 52 episodes long. It's about a girl with a tumor in her throat who wants to sing; she is going to die in a year but her wish to become a healthy girl who can sing is granted as another form of herself by shinigami. The first half is full of the development of her building singing career and filler as she helps others, then the second half takes a tragic turn, not to mention one of her shinigami is falling in love with her! The plot twists surprised even me and satisfied me.
B.) Skip Beat
Why do I like anime about girls and their careers of acting/singing/whatnot?
Anyway, I love the personality of the main character in this one: she's innocent yet corrupted, sweet yet spiteful, cute yet crazy. There's something amazing about a girl who was once a perfect waifu that changes into the previously mentioned kind of person. the comedy is so amusing and plus! The foreshadowed couple are voiced by the voiceactors for Yoko and Kamina in Gurren Lagann! How crazy is that!?

1. Cowboy Bebop - One of the first animes I ever saw, and to this day, remains to be a masterpiece.
2. Neon Genesis Evangelion - An anime I grew up with through my adolescence, which I believed caused me to even be a better person. The mysteries and hidden meanings that went through it astounded me.
3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - It's unique style and great graphics took me by interest. I was also interested at the concept for it.
4. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni series - Very mysterious, very violent, very... cute? An anime that had me twirling around in theories until the end and beyond, I always look forward to showing people this series.
5. Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann - Although a more recent anime, it absolutely captured me from it's animation and character development. The theory to believe in yourself, and with that belief, anything is possible hold strong for me, and is an idea I stick to this day.

The manga to me is a lot different than the anime though. It seems more harem based rather than the supernatural comedy based. The drawings have that "roundish" look to them, and everyone looks overall cuter (including Kyon). He seems more passive and shy, much like main characters are usually portrayed in these kinds of mangas, but I miss his forwardness and "I don't care" attitude from the anime.
