Being oblivious to this section, I went through the two pages of threads, and i couldn't seem to find a "favorite Anime" thread, because well..... there was none. So any who, this thread is made for you, an anime watcher, to list your favorite anime. Support it with what you think it interesting. Make it seem like it's the best anime that SHOULD be watched by many.
My List
1. Naruto - This anime, obnoxious at first, has a deep story. You get into the minds and past of the characters. This anime also shows great battle scenes that can be admired to die-hard fans. People new to the anime, have to take some time to watch it. I really didn't like it at first, but after really watching, i loved it. People say it's a kids show. That's your opinion, but i don't think it very is.
2. Death Note - This anime is an intense anime of suspense, and mystery. It's subject under a 'cat and mouse chase' of Light vs. L. After watching the first episode, you will be left with in your mind, "What happens next," and pushes you to type in, Death Note Episode 2. This anime is FILLED with cliffhangers, mystery all throughout, and the feeling of you trying to figure out on your own, what's going to happen next.
3. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Now this is an interesting anime. It's not actiony, or mysterious like Death note, and naruto. But this anime is kind of an anime where you look into the life of Kyon. A high school student who runs into this new girl, who has an odd liking to outer alien life. the first day, not a very good impression on the class. But finding new people for their club, this anime is just one that you're curious to see what happens next.
4. Full Metal Alchemist - I really like this one. Following the lives of Ed and Al, you get into their past, their goal, and what happens in between. This anime uncovers a generation of creativity, utilizing the use of Alchemy, an entirely new way of brining action and story. This is definitely an anime you'd want to buy season 2 for.

Number 5 - Full Metal Alchemist While it has a good story and lots of action, it also pads its episode list with irrelevant filler, for which I mark it down.
Number 4 - The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Seriously, do I need to explain this one?
Number 3 - Digimon I watched this on Saturday mornings as a kid. I can never get enough of it, and I still watch the first two seasons from time to time. After that, I start to hate the people that made it.
Number 2 - Trigun Amazingly well done, great story, action packed and full of story.
Number 1 - Last Exile With as well done as Trigun is, Last Exile does things better.

in no particular order
elfen lied: First of all, love the Music theme. i can play it on guitar.... ladies? interested? anyway, its a very interesting, bloody, boobie filled anime. I don't remember the names other than the Red headed Killer/innocent girl Lucy. She escapes from a institution where she is kept prisoner in order to protect the world, and human race from her. She is shot, but instead of being killed, she loses her memory. She comes in contact with the main character and his Cousin. THey take her in. THere are many twists and turns in this anime. What i love about it is, it grabs your attention easily, blood, boobies, what not. and then it gives you many, many different reasons to stick with it rather than just boobies. THe complexities of the characters is incredible, and the ability to actually begin to care for them is also commendable, or some fancy word like that.
Suzuka: A basic high school romance story. But in this case, the guy isn't a complete loser where girls scare the shit out of him. He has his eyes set on one girl and he will do anything to get her attention. it has some sports in it, well... just one. Track. but amazingly enough, they make it interesting. It is a real heart twister, but i think thats mainly because its easy to connect with the story, no matter which spectrum of the romance prism you have been on.
.Hack//sign: One of the first animes i ever actually completed. something.... odd. thats what draws me to this anime. The idea that this guy is stuck in a video game... odd. Could be stupid. its not. Could easily be rediculous, seeing as how there are guilds and what not in this MMO that the kid is trapped in. its not. It has a serious tone throughtout the anime, and it is done extremely well. I need to rewatch it.
Evangelion: Do i even need to explain this anime? the greatest i have ever seen. Superb in every aspect of the word. THe ideas and thoughts that are presented are... wow. THe action sequences... wow. the emotions and confusion and utter exhaustion presented by the characters, wow. Just pick this up if you have never seen it. and may god have mercy on your soul. you are going to be fucked in the head.
And thats all i got right now

ooh elfen lied, nice one travis. although the blood and gore took away from the light-handed storyline. Youtubers are so retarded there though, because they complain they don't get to see below-the-belt.

It seem i left one anime out of my listing.
Goshuusho-sama, ninomiya-kun (which roughly translates to My Condolences, Ninomiya) - This is a romance/comedy anime. When a high school student, who has been trained by his mercenary sister, to protect this one, feeble girl. Ironically, she has a fear of men. All men, except ninomiya. The interesting twist is that she is a succubus, a life draining human. Upon the assignment of having to protect her from any danger, their life becomes one interesting romance, drama (seriously, i felt like a girl watching like gossip girl or something..... but not that much), and BEWB jokes. Ex. the Girl kneels down to help ninomiya with a basket, and her skirt just went up a little to far, and well.. yea. another is the intro and one episode. The into has enormous bewbs, and one episodes beginning is focused on the size of them. It's really funny, and i guess if you're those people who go "GASP" at a dramatic scene, well you'll like it.

My favorite animes are: Death Note - Nice that there was a more mature anime that was really thought provoking. The struggle of life and death made every moment tense. In a way made me glad that such a notebook doesn't exist.
Keroro Gunso - Just a funny show. The style is also nice. I am trying to work on my anime style of drawing so all these different styles are great inspiration. I just love the ideas of aliens living on Earth along with us.
Evangelion - The story and style and everything was just amazing. At the end my head did hurt a bit but it was worth it.
Paranoia Agent - Though the story got confusing at times, I loved the trippiness and strange fear the victims shared. Little Slugger was just doing his job.
I don't watch too much anime but I do have my favorites. :3

Azn, the kid doesn't turn into a detective; It's a high-school student that has been obsessed with Sherlock Holmes, and therefore wants to pursue a career as a detective, which was going fine until some dudes drugged him with something that reverted his body to a young age.
And yes, I love that show.

Yeah, that show was cool. Though it's plot, like most mystery shows, got redundant after a while. Still entertaining for the most part though.

5. Trinity Blood - This is one of my favorites just because it's the one the got me started watching anime. Before this, my only exposure to anime was Pokemon and that was when I was younger and I quickly grew out of it. Don't know what made me like this anime, but its stuck to me as a favorite.
4. Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Great anime with solid story line, setting, and characters. Enjoyed every minute of it.
3. The Vision of Escaflowne - Like everything about this game. Especially the variety of settings and their connection to the real world. Ranging from the Venice like canals of Palace of Asturia or the Hindu inspired temples of Freid.
2. Cowboy Bebop - Enjoy the setting and history of the characters and LOVE the use of jazz music for the opening and action scenes. Most animes use j-pop of j-rock for openings which is alright, but it's nice to see something different.
1. Blood+ - ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS ANIME. The story probably gets me the most with all the mystery revolving around the main character, Saya, and its nice length. Most animes feel too short or too long and this one feels just right. Doesn't make you wanting more and doesn't get boring after awhile.
