Decided to start the thread this week cause I thought of something.

I was listening to podcast #84 and Brad totally just rags on the Wii for the second half of the show. Even saying "It is the top selling console of this generation and it f**ks with the industry." One thing I wanted clearer answer to was:

How does the expanded audience the Wii brings hurt the gaming industry as a whole?

do you think that if big game devs like bungee, epic, infinity ward, and people like that take a good amount of time and put all the effort they have into a game for the wii... would it make or break the wii in your opinion?

i recently read an article on kotaku, basicallly saying that capcom was greatly inspired by bioshock while working on resident evil 5.

This could mean alot of things and quite frankly im a bit more nervous about the direction of re5 from hearing this

Im hoping that capcom was just inspired by the level design and atmosphere of bioshock and not the whole special powers thing.

If i play re5 and one of the surprises of the game is Redfield shooting fireballs and electricity from his hands... i just don't think its gonna be an re game anymore. And it's not entirely impossible either, Wesker already has some superhuman powers himself.

So, how would you guys feel if capcom actually incorporated these types of elements into the final game?

That is just an example of one possibly overhyped game (or Nick's favorite game of ALL TIME!!!)

I think they are overreacting, if they keep on pulling stuff out of games games would be way to generic.
