My favorite final fantasy is FFX.
Mainly because this was the first and only Final Fantasy so far where I enjoyed all of the story and all the characters. The story doesn't get too confusing and the twists actually change the story drastically.I actually felt like I was watching real world and its troubles.
The music is very memorable and IMO fantastic, hearing a song from FFX brings back all the things that happened while that song was playing.

The only FF game I've played seriously is FFX, which I just picked up about a week ago. I'm enjoying the heck out of it right now. The only problem is that I always seem to find myself under leveled when it comes to bosses.

FFX, followed closely by FF8.
FFX was the first time I ever got really deep into a games story, so naturally thats my favorite, but 8 was also a very memorable game. Infact X and 8 are my 1st and 3rd favorite games of all time.

8, follow closely by 10. FF8 was the first Final Fantasy game that I played, so it is quite dear to me. X had a wonderful plot, but didn't follow through in a lot of other necessary areas for me. D:

6 is probably the best, nevertheless 7 is my favourite.
and as a side note, 2 is the hardest in my opinion

I always have a hard time determining my favorite Final Fantasy because it changes from time to time. I love all of them from V to X, but I'd narrow it down to V, VII, IX, and X. If forced to choose one I'd pick Final Fantasy VII. VII was my first Final Fantasy, it had some interesting characters, a great battle system, and awesome music.

I absolutely loved FFX, well, except for the laughing scene

Uh FFX so far. I like the battle system, the characters and the world a lot more than FFXII. I started playing FF3 (FF6) and FF2 (I think, the one with a knight I think).

I think it's worth pointing out that most peoples favorite FF is the first one they played/completed

Either FF8 or FF4.
Loved the stories, battle systems, and the characters from both.

Final Fantasy 10. It was the first one I played and I loved the story, characters, and gameplay. FF10 is also my favorite game of all time.

Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy XII. The former deserves to be remade for the seventh generation consoles so more people can experience it in all its glory, and the latter was just a perfect game for me - though I never used gambits that much unless I was cheat-grinding or fighting against a powerful boss.
