:S is it bad that I went to Denny's, ordered from the breakfast menu and then asked for extra bacon with no swine flu? I'd laugh but I'm sure a lot of other people probably think it's too soon to joke about it. I wanted to buy cherry tomatoes but all the packages said 'Product of Mexico', then I changed my mind. lol Eh I have dark humor so I tend to joke about a lot of things, probably just to calm me down and lighten things up. Though as I ate I kept telling my friends I hope I don't get sick today/tomorrow. :S There was also this guy behind me who coughed weird, my friends and I looked at each other with the "Aww Fuck" type of look. |

i bet Madagascar has already closed its ports Damn Madagascar. One person coughs and they already close their one port. How am I supposed to spread a pandemic? Anyway, swine flu is not that big of a deal. It's just a flu, and the reason why so many people died in Mexico, is the same reason they die every day from the "regular" flu. Poor health care. And when they get the health care they need, it's too late. Plus most of them were very young or very old, who die, once again every day, from the "regular" flu. |

That's why it's so scary, because it isn't killing the young and old, it killed middle aged people. |

It's just the media's Epidemic of the Year used to stir up ratings. It'll have just as much affect in the US as Bird Flu or SARS. And the only reason they changed the name to the H1N1 Virus is because the livestock industry was offended by Swine Flu. Honestly, the odds of one of us getting infected is 1 in a large number. I don't feel like quoting statistics today; they just help proliferate the fear.

If it was reported a flu outbreak had affected 100 people in Mexico, no one would give a fuck. Add in the crucial modifier of "Swine" and everybody goes ape shit.
Buy some tamiflu and shut the hell up.
