S.T.A.L.K.E.R - I was just exploring a house, everything seemed normal. I explored all the floors. (basement, 1st, 2nd,and 3rd.) I searched all the rooms for a Artifact, and it was a EMPTY house. As I was heading down, I saw a man hunched in a corner as if he was wounded. I know he wasn't there before, so I went to talk to him. I don't remember what he was rambling about, but as soon as I turned around one of these ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vi-iWR31W9A&feature=related ) came right in front of me. I actually fell out of my chair and couldn't sleep. >.> EDIT - I know Brad's computer can't play it, but if he could, I would pay to watch him play S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

(This could be embarrasing for me)
During my first run-through of F.E.A.R., I came to the Ladder part where the girl appears as you go down the ladder and then Fettel appears at the bottom of the ladder hitting me with a "Double Whammy". I was playing with 3 other friends watching me and I got so scared that I threw my controller at the wall and broke it...We had to stop playing for the night and try again tomorrow.

um, I should have a lot of these because I absolutely hate scary games, yet love to play them, (weird I know.)
I would have to say a very scary moment for me just happened to me last night. I was playing Fatal Frame 2 on chapter 8, the chapter where u have to run around and find the pinwheel things, Anyway, I was in the Tachibana house and couldn't find anything, I walked into a closet and noticed a bunch of dolls on the floor, so I brought up my camera and that falling lady fell right in front of me, I screamed quite a lot because I wasnt expecting a ghost to fall in a closet!!

One of my scariest moments in gaming is when I was just a kid, The original Resident Evil. That first zombie freaked me out so much, I couldn't sleep at all. Now when I go back and play it..It still somewhat gives me the chills.

i dont really get scared by games but i do have a moment. it was in RE4 i was walking around and it didnt look like anyone was around and i was walking slowly down a road then out of darkness a chainsaw guy runs up on me from a pitch black area. and he kills me. also the part in condemned 2 where you walk through that mud stuff and the first time one of those things came down from the ceiling right into my face i almost had a heart attack.

*SPOILER WARNING* ^^^ you can never be too sure...
Half-Life 2: Episode 2 at the beginning when the hunter is stalking around and you can see him run across the roof above you, and through the window, before it attacks Alyx. That REALLY got me.

Oh God. Don't remind me. I avoid playing scary games, but since I wanted to buy the Orange Box and play Half Life 2 for the first time I thought I'd try and brave that level. The first part that gave me a small gasp was when you first come out of the shaft and enter Ravenholm. After walking past the tree with the legs hanging from the rope (Seriously, wtf Valve?) there's a Headcrab Zombie that comes out of the shadows before entering the shack. Wasn't expecting it, and it made me jump a little. But the biggest scare was confronting my first Fast Zombie. I just turned around and all of a sudden I hear that awful screeching scream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKRU-xpC_IU Seriously, how can that not scare the sh*t out of you?) and some wierd ass creature with no skin jumping towards me. I paniced and hit the alt fire on the SMG. I died. Everything else from that point on didn't make me scream out loud. It was more creepy and kept me on edge throughout the rest of Ravenholm, but that Fast Zombie gave me one hell of a scare. I'm sure there's loads of horror games that would scare me more, but for now, I'd like to leave it at Ravenholm. That's why Brad earns respect from me. He plays all these horror games despite being scared. Now thats true courage.

I don't play a lot of scary games, I usually end up getting a scary game and having my friend play through as I watch. Although while playing Vampire the Masquerade I had to go into a haunted house. My god that whole level was so scary.

About the scariest moment for me was wayyyyy back in PS1 Resident Evil. Actually it gote me twice, the first was when you first saw a zombie in "lifelike" cg and the second was those dogs bursting through the windows in the hallway. No game has ever scared me that much before or since.

Ravenholm = My first experience with poisoned head crabs, but the greatest level to use the gravit gun!
