Oh God. Don't remind me. I avoid playing scary games, but since I wanted to buy the Orange Box and play Half Life 2 for the first time I thought I'd try and brave that level. The first part that gave me a small gasp was when you first come out of the shaft and enter Ravenholm. After walking past the tree with the legs hanging from the rope (Seriously, wtf Valve?) there's a Headcrab Zombie that comes out of the shadows before entering the shack. Wasn't expecting it, and it made me jump a little. But the biggest scare was confronting my first Fast Zombie. I just turned around and all of a sudden I hear that awful screeching scream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKRU-xpC_IU Seriously, how can that not scare the sh*t out of you?) and some wierd ass creature with no skin jumping towards me. I paniced and hit the alt fire on the SMG. I died. Everything else from that point on didn't make me scream out loud. It was more creepy and kept me on edge throughout the rest of Ravenholm, but that Fast Zombie gave me one hell of a scare. I'm sure there's loads of horror games that would scare me more, but for now, I'd like to leave it at Ravenholm. That's why Brad earns respect from me. He plays all these horror games despite being scared. Now thats true courage. Oddly enough (with the exception of the head crab in the beginning, didn't see one), most of your experience is similar to mine. The finale of Ravenholm was just incredibly tense, waiting for that damn elevator to arrive while I blew away fast zombies left and right... then getting the gravity gun achievement was a B****, but I ended up doing it. Great level, really, XD |

probaly in Condemned 2 Bloodshot when you go in the tar rooms and the cacoons pop out and grab you. also in f.e.a.r when you go down the ladder and a little girl appears, i shut the game of right there

My first scary moment was when I first encountered the Master Hands in OoT. OH my god did those scare me TT_TT
Another time when I was playing Condemend with a friend i was going down the stairs in a subway(?) station when all of a sudden I get kicked down the stairs D:

Resident Evil 4 you might think ill say a zombie or something but no its ashley i told her to wait so i could blow up the truck with explosives i did it and i turned around and she is just standing there with her big ears and she still haunts my dreams

A little game called Haunting Ground for the PS2, also known as Demento in Japan.
The basic mechanic is that you have to run from the enemies and hide until they wander off, and I was hiding in what appeared to be a safe little room, but then a cutscene popped up and the enemy pulled a lever and apparently the entire room was a giant Iron Maiden.
I pooped.

Mine was when I played Penumbra: Tech Demo. I was looking for stuff in a room, I opened some drawers and turned around to see a bat monster fly at me. I shat bricks.
