I wish my girl could dodge better. I have the Agi-fighter-girl. =| Though I think that's just me being really shitty at the fighting parts. She'll like "dodge roll" but instead of being able to change her direction, she keeps rolling in the same direction if you go too quickly. But maybe this has to do with me downloading it onto my harddrive through the 360 instead of playing the original xbox version. Anyone else have a probably with game lag/delay?
Also, is it just me, or are the ghosts hard as fuck to kill and my little buddy dies way too easily? I've only played about 6 hours, though. In the forest part by Tien's Landing. I died and restarted at least 4 times on my way to the Inn cause of those damn ghosts. Frustrating.

Also, make sure your support character can harm the ghosts, some of them can't. (But at this point in the game I think they all can.) Remember that only certain styles hurt them. Also, if you change your partner to support instead of attack, they will be ignored by enemies and give you a stat bonus or recover SP, etc. I haven't had any problem with playing it on 360, but I am using an original xbox disc. I am really enjoying this game and will probably make a post about it once I finish.

Yeah, I know how to dodge, but like.. I can't do it in multiple directions easily? There is a delay and it will just keep dodging straight instead of say, straight then left. I dunno. I think it's just me fucking around 'cause I like to roll. I'll probably get better at it as I go on, unless it is game lag from playing off my hard drive.
Wasn't aware I could make my buddy support...! That will probably makes things a lot easier. He tends to change targets when I try to fight what he is fighting, and that's kinda irritating. But yeah, I am using the style that allows me to hurt them... they just take forever to die I guess and I suck at blocking more than 2 enemies at a time. I'm not into power-leveling or anything, so I just push forward until I can't go anymore. Did you do any extra leveling, School?
I do want to say that it is a ton of fun even when it is kind of difficult. This is the first BioWare game I'll have finished, so I'm excited for that. I'll try not to post much more until I'm further in. I can only play once a week or so. =\
Did they decide the weekend the podcast will be on, yet?

Well I just finished this game again, and I have to say this game just keeps getting better but I do have some qualms. Also it should be noted that I played the PC version.
I really enjoyed the combat in it and enjoyed the conversion to real time. Although there are some combo's that can be spammed. Storm dragon in particular is ridiculously over powered.
The story was awesome and I felt like I was in a Kung Fu movie. I especially liked the characters of Silk Fox and Wild Flower. And the twist at the end still gets me after playing through it multiple times. Although there were some plotholes that I found but won't post due to spoilers.
One thing that was really ambitious for bioware to do in this game but I thought they ultimately failed on was the concepts of the Open Palm and Close Fist philosophies. As stated in the begininng by Smiling Mountain they aren't simple good and evil but rather different ways for living ones life. Open Palm being about accepting ones station in life and preserving the harmonious flow of the universe. While Close Fist being about personal growth and advancement regardless of other circumstances. IE a peasant tilling his land would be an example of a follower of the Open Palm while a peasant who works his way up the social ladder by moving up in the military and eventually becoming a general at the expense of other people would be a follower of the Close Fist. However Bioware fails to bring these philosophies to life in Jade Empire and it boils down to the Open Palm options being selfless and good and a follower of the Close Fist was basically a brute.
Other then that I feel that this game really stands the test of time. So to everyone one else who was your favorite NPC? What kind of fighting styles did you guys choose? For my fighting styles I usually combo's Storm Dragon with Legendary Strike, and used fire magic and dual swords. Didn't really use the transformations.

I had a lot of silly glitches while I was playing. Not sure if this is just because I downloaded it and played it on my Xbox360 and it just doesn't transfer well, or what, but whatever. I'm a fan of glitches. This one made me giggle, though, so I wanted to share.
I had another glitch during a talky-cutscene where the NPC began to walk out of the room, but then the camera angle suddenly changed, ... but she continued to walk and ended up walking through the wall. Then the camera angle switched back and you could see my NPC support character and I SWEAR she shrugged her shoulders like she saw my glitch and went "wut?" Hehee. That's all for now. I'm 11 hours in.

I beat this game awhile back and It had to be one of my favorite games of last year. It wasn't KOTOR, but it was still a pretty solid game nonetheless. I was satisfied with the increasing difficulty of the game and the number of fighting styles at your disposal. I am very excited for what BioWare has in store for the future.

I just beat everyone in the Area, and I feel like a bad-ass. That was actually pretty difficult. I'm excited to finish the game this week, hopefully. Curious if there is a date set for the podcast yet? *please not Friday, please not Friday* The last two were on Sunday Nights, so probably Sunday?

Oreo I had some pretty weird glitches happen to me to although I was playing it on the PC. It mainly dealt with the camera acting wonky on my and it only happened on the second to last fight in the arena. Still it resolved itself but was pretty annoying.

First, please click here to start to get in the Jade Empire mood going www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHYARoLPpDwBioware has done it again! I am so impressed with this game, I thank 4pp for spreading the word on such an awesome game. I was actually surprised with how well polished this game felt. It has all the good points to an RPG. Ever since I played Lost Odyssey, That has set my standard of any RPG I play. Jade Empire has everything that makes RPG's so great. The engaging and emotional story, the unique and interesting characters, the good combat, and the epic and sweeping score all exell Jade Empire to one of the top of its class. The most memorable moment for me was (SPOILERS) seeing the water dragon lying on a cliff, bleeding its blood out to feed the Jade Empire. Just the idea of trapping a god for its blood tingles my spine. Another great feeling you get when playing any good RPG, is that at the end, you feel like you actually accomplished something, and did something meaningful in your world. I felt good about restoring balance to the empire. I felt like i just finished reading a good long book. Thats what I love about this game, the accomplishment i felt at the end. And lets not forget the music. It amazes me that in the main theme alone, you feel the emotions of the entire game in one track. Bioware did a great job with using the music to move the player, and to immerse yourself into the world of the Jade Empire For any RPG, I expect these certain elements in the game, Jade Empire has done a fantastic job at it for me, and that is why this game will withstand the test of time. Every RPG fan has to at least check this game out. I 100% Recommend it! As for Jade Empire 2? Only time will tell. From now on, the name Jade Empire will live on in my gaming experiences forever. Thanks for reading! ;D

Yah xvader what you did there was a harmonic combo. I support style attack followed by a martial arts attack. If you look closely there is a ring underneath your opponents and changes color when you hit them with a support style, which clues you in to attacking them with a martial art. When you get it right glorious things like what you described happen.
Also just wait till you have something special in store for you.

I asked for a vote in chat and got lots of yes's to this question: Doesnt Brad's character(Smexy Ling) look like David Liao with boobs? I think its less because she looks like a man and more because David is so damn cute ^.^ (no homo) [Edit:] I really dont want you guys to think im being racist its just that Ling has a scowl about her when the camera pans to her to choose dialogue, and she looks like a man, specifically David with his long-ish hair

Nice review there school. However this might be due to the fact that I played the PC but a male PC can romance a male NPC sky. Also there is only one male npc that a female pc can romance. A male pc can romance Dawn Star, Silk Fox, or Sky and a female pc can romance either Sky or Silk Fox.
