Alright, so I come before all of you in need of advice. I've been a 360 fan since day one, until it started having problems. I just recently got the RROD, and no longer have a functioning console. I writing this because i'm stuck in a debate with myself whether i should pursue getting another newer 360,instead of repairing it, or switching to a ps3. Is there cons to the ps3 like the 360? Is now a good time to swtich bc of First party developer exclusives, or should i just wait a while longer to buy a ps3?

Here's what I think. I personally have all three systems and know that each one has its pro's and cons. I recently considered upgrading my 360 to avoid the RROD. Brad talked me out of it.
1st- There is no point as long as Microsoft will continue to fix it for free when it happens unless of course you have use for that extra 100 GB or space. Second, I have seen several people bring back an elite system the day they bought it, saying it red ringed right out of the box, so upgrading doesn't elimate this problem.
2nd- The Xbox360 has great games but very few heavy hitting, first party exclusives like Sony. The only real advantage that Microsoft seems to have at this point is excellent online functionality. But the PS3's isn't that bad so don't let this discourage you. I recommend PS3's to pretty much everyone because they are solid, they will have some really great games, they have blu-ray built in, and its just a damn sexy system.
So my answer to you is, let Microsoft fix your system for free and if you want to spend the money, then spend it on a PS3.

i am getting sick of all the nonsense that comes with the 360. Even though it has some Superb Online, how is PSN? I know it's free, and has built in Wi-fi (which is sweet) but is it reliable? Are there a lot of people on it? If i were to invest my time and switch over to a ps3 would it be worth it in the long run?

The PSN online is fine, and not as terrible as some people claim it to be. And yes, there is quite a bit of people on it. One thing tho, the PSN Store updates every thursday, instead if tuesday (I think) for the 360.

There's nothing WRONG with the PSN, it just needs some polishing. A few features, like the ability to access your mail system while in a game, are missing and stick out like sore thumbs. The online store has been struggling lately but usually has at least a few cool things to check out.
As far as online gaming itself, the PSN is just as smooth as the 360.
Supposedly, there are big things in the pipeline to expand both the PS3's online network and its abilities as a media center.
As previously said, warranty your 360 if you can. But if you've got the money, I'd seriously look into PS3. At the very least, you can start buying multi-platform games for PS3 so you can still play them when your 360 craps the bed again.

yea i've decided the PS3 route......I'll be getting rid of all my 360 accessories tomorrow to see if i can get good store credit. I don't care much for playing PS2 games, or PS1 Games, so would the 40 Gig. be the best route for me to go? i Can easily buy the rumble controller when it comes out later on and plan on getting MGS4 later, but don't want to spend $500

The 40gb would be fine if you do not need BC, but it only has two USB ports. So, its limited players on games like Rock Band, but you could just get a USB hub.

No headset is included, any USB Mic will work, and credit card or w/e to purchase stuff.
