I also remember watching Ronin Warriors for about a month when it aired in '99. Can none of you guys remember ReBoot? I feel ashamed of myself, how could I forget?! I love ReBoot!!!

A lot of my favourite anime shows when I was a kid were English-dubbed like Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball/DBZ. Sailor Moon was the bomb back in the day XD I think I remember Hello Kitty being shown here in N.America too, but it never really caught my interest.
Japanese English-sub'd animes were hard to come by back when I was a kid. I relied on my older brother as my source of anime. I prefered these ones more than English-dubbed though and still do. I love the japanese voice acting and especially the music. Akira was one of them XD Oooh the nightmares it brought to me at that tender age! I must've been around 6. Evangelion was good too. I loved watching DBZ movies. Initial D was another. That's the first time I've ever heard about drifting. This show introduced me to my love...the RX-7 =D
But overall, I probably would recommend DB/DBZ if you're new to anime. DBZ movies were always great. I'm not much of a fan of DBGT though. If you're not into all that violence and more into drama/comedy, try anything by Tatsuya Ishihara. He did Clannad, Kanon, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, my favourites! The drawing is very good too.

The Zoids animes were the shit!! I liked the one they played in the early morning at like 5am Zoids Chaotic Century was awesome. I also used to watch Case Closed (Detective Conan) until they stopped airing it. Then there was DBZ, of course. And Pokemon, although that was short-lived. And Gundam Wing, I never really like any of the other Gundams, not even G Gundam (I don't really know why, I guess I liked the war storyline better). That's all I can think of that I really watched.

Thanks to my cousin's friend, the first anime I watched was Ninja Scroll... btw, I was 6 years old at the time I haven't watched a new anime series in a while. When I was a kid, the girls watched Sailor Moon and the boys watched DBZ. I do have to thank Toonami for introducing a lot of anime. Outlaw Star being my favorite amongst them, then Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun. Later, I just had to get the uncut videos of each cause my friends and I were quick to CN's censorship (really, "donuts" instead of onigiri). Also, like most kids in my school, I was a fan of Pokemon, too. I remember showing off the promo VHS of Pokemon that I think Nintendo Power sent in before anyone knew about it. But once 150 was broken, I said screw it. Long anime series are too much of a hassle to keep up with.
