Often in video games the main character can either be a silent hero or have a specific personality. Which do you prefer, and why? Do you think that a happy medium will ever be achieved?

Maybe a strange/touchy question but here it goes...
Do you guys ever feel somewhat conscious talking about gaming or games being your main hobby infront of non gaming co-workers or friends or whatever?
For example I recently started a new job and have been hanging out with alot of my new co-workers, none of whom play games (exceptions of rockband and gta, IE. extremely casual stuff) But I almost felt like I was ashamed to bring it up because even though gaming has come pretty far in the public's eyes it still doesnt seem as "accepted" a hobby as being a movie fanatic, music enthusiast, fitness buff, etc...
It just seems alot of non gamers are VERY quick to label it negatively. Its just weird that when they ask what i'm into I have to be cautious of my responses due to the awkward situations it brings up at times.

Is there a developer that seemed to be below average but has since redeemed itself to you guys? What did they do to turn their image around and what company do you want to see do the same?
Thanks

Which game would you suggest to a non-gamer to become one?
Reversely which game would you not suggest to them and suggest they avoid?
thanks

Throughout all the games you've played in your entire life, and how things have unfolded for you. is there anything or any game or something similar that you regret doing? or something that seems stupid that you did now that you realize how things have changed because of it?

I know you guys don't talk much about MMORPG's on the feed, but do you think they have hurt or helped the industry over the past 5 years?
Personally I think it could be argued both ways. They take gamers away by making them focus on one game, hurting sales of other games. But also, the trend lately has been them pulling in new gamers. I know many people who have not played many games before, got into World of Warcraft, and became avid gamers spanning over both next gen(current gen) consoles.

Do you think that buying an older sistem like the original Xbox intending to play those games online is ok? I mean there deffinately are less people who play games online on older consols but then again you could buy several games and the console for a prety good price. Thanks

As an avid gamer myself, there are aspects of games that usually appeal or catch your eye at first glance. With the vast library of games I've seen broadcasted on the feed, I was wondering what some of those eye-catching attributes draw you guys toward a game. Also, do you think developers are slacking on what appeals to the people actually purchasing the games?
Thanks, Vaughn (same vaughn on blog)

Name: Colin Location: Scotland JTV username: Sir_Colin Hey guys, I’m interested in all of your opinions on base stereotypes of certain types of games. For example, every open world game nowadays is being compared to Grand Theft Auto – which is not necessarily a bad thing, as it allows criticisms and praise where appropriate – and so being called a “clone” leading to passing prejudice before it can even make an impression of its own. Further examples are first person shooters to Halo (Doom pre-Halo), music games to Guitar Hero, MMORPGs to World of Warcraft, and so on a so forth. Do you feel that these (more common than not negative) comparisons are good for the industry, or do you feel that they cause development companies to be too paranoid about having a game that is too like these compared games? Cheers

If (for reasons unimportant) Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft came to an agreement and together developed a single gaming console that would carry on the next generation of games, do you think the games and the console itself would be successful? Also, would a console monopoly like this, in your eyes, no longer encourage competition to create better games or better systems?
For short: Would a single unified console (think 'WiiStation 360') be a good/bad idea, and how would you think it effects the future of gaming?
