One of best animes of all time is returning thise april! I'm a huge fan of the animes and never really followed the manga too much but I heard that its better than the anime. The new anime series is going to be based compeletly on the manga. Heres a preview of the new series. www.youtube.com/watch?v=geei0G05BZ4What do you guys think of FMA and the new series? (edited post to make more sense)

What?
This is odd. So there is going to be the Anime-anime, and the Manga-anime? The fuck?
I mean I am happy for more FMA, but...that's just wierd.

I couldn't really get into the first season, but since the new season is going to follow the manga, I might just have to check it out

What is with people and misusing "season" and "series"? A series is the full collection of episodes, while a season is generally a yearly run of said show and can be any number of episodes.
Semantics aside, this is pretty neato.

Eh... The first season imo was pretty good. The movie was also decent, but it left me on my toes... I'm just hoping the new season's story isn't half assed.

This is great! I love Full Metal Alchemist, but after the movie came out and I watched it I kind of just... stopped liking anime completely, (though I guess I still do like it to some degree, right?) Full Metal Alchemist really is great though.

I read some of the manga and it was a lot better than the anime series. Also there are some very fundamental differences between such as the philosophers stone not being made of the same thing and the homonuclus not being born the same and being a different kind of being. There are also different homnuclus like Sloth, Pride, Wrath being different and better in my opinion.
I don't know how they would continue the current anime series with a season that is based on the manga because it wouldn't make any sense and would be completely different.

Think of that Hulk Movie in 2003 with Eric Bana, it wasn't too good, so they made another one, The Incredible Hulk in 2008 with Edward Norton. It's a completely re-telling of the story.

Thats what I am saying, they would have to create an entirely new series not pick up after the last one left off.

I thought it was over a long time ago? i think this is like what they did with hellsing, they did a little short single season run like most adaptions that finishes whilst the manga continues on, and then release one that is canonical. though a series set after the shamballa movie would be cool.

though a series set after the shamballa movie would be cool. Eh, I prefer to think of Shambala's Ending as the definite ending of the anime continuity.
