Your right, since the Manga runs one chapter monthly it would've been difficult for the producers to wait for the Manga to gain a distance, and they even thought that taking a break at one point might've been good, but I guess they decided to cut off from the manga at a certain point and do their own thing with the manga instead of waiting for the author to further into the manga.

Alot of things were different from the Anime to Manga, and definitely the manga is 10x better in my opinion especially after reading some of the chapters.
