Why do people do more these days. Discuss

Because, "Japanophiles" that can only watch an anime in Japanese think that English is an inferior language, and thus a dub can't be good. Those people are stoopid.

It's Ridiculous I mean do they think they can do better. I was watching Princess Monoke on the feed last Week and Some chatter said is this some fan dub cause this is horrible. That movie has good dubbing so i don't know what people are thinking these days. Are the just bashing to be "cool"?

im ok with dubs but when like... the voice is completely off (deeper or higher) then i get annoyed... im ok with watching stuff in japanese just as long as there are english subtitles under it so i dont get lost

well, some dubs do good like Full MEtal Alchemist or cowboy Bebop. but animes like Naruto which is one of my favorite animes, has a bad english dub. i can't watch naruto in english. if you don't like the show, you've probably only watched the english dub or you really don't want it to be good

Azn, I've seen the Japanese dub, I can honestly say it's terrible. There's still no plot, they're still loud, obnoxious, flamboyantly dressed kids training in some magic art and punching someone in the face and calling themselves ninja, there's still a crap ton of filler, there's still whiny faggots at every turn.
Seriously. Naruto can die.

The thing with English voice acting is that they alter some of the things characters say so it appeals a bit more toward a Western audience, usually the edit sucks and I would rather hear the Japanese humor and LEARN SOMETHING. Also the fact that we edit the dialogue just dumbs people down because U.S.A doesn't teach **** about other Countries and just say "We're #1!"
But I do like Cowboy Bebop in English, a few English dubs are just great! But they are very rare occurrences (especially stuff coming from Shonen Jump)

The Funimation dub of One Piece is awesome, I saw some weaboo bashing the Trigun dub. Made me want to rip his head off.

Xalgar... You're an idiot. I'm too tired to argue right now, but Jesus non-existent Christ you're dumb. How am I dumb? How would you like it if you wrote something and then find out that when you published it, they changed some phrases to "appeal to a wider audience"? If an English Dub is good, I will watch it in English. If the original Japanese dub is bad or annoying, I will take the English Dub. Just posting my personal opinion and my 2 cents why I think this way. At least I'm not an idiot who says "X Show" is great, but don't give a reason why. I won't argue with you because I know my opinion will not appeal to everyone. The Funimation dub of One Piece is awesome, I saw some weaboo bashing the Trigun dub. Made me want to rip his head off. I agree, the Dubs for Trigun were great and I see nothing wrong with the One Piece dub, hell, I find the English dub of One Piece better than the Japanese.

Darkness, i understand that you're just one of those people who don't like Naruto. and i respect that. But all i have to say, is A LOT can come out of Naruto. Needless to say that they are obnoxious, i want to know, how many and which episode did you watch. #1 starred really only Naruto, so watching that one episode, and judging it by his few actions and personality, isn't a very good way to judge an anime. But i digress, which episode did you watch?

I actually watched the first 15 or so, and then attempted a few more but just couldn't stomach it and found my self watching YouTube with it in the background.

i watched naruto in with subs, i watched it in dubs the dubbing sucks but mainly because of "believe it" which was spawned by naruto always saying dattebayo in japanese version which roughly translates out to "believe it" its since been dropped but i like dubs like FMA and One Piece even some of the crappier ones i like and xalgar the only real anime changed to appeal to americans is shin-chan but thats just so we don't go wondering "wtf is going on"

because shin-chan is really.... an anime poop if you could say that. it really just has random episodes, and doesn't really follow a storyline. however, i do support your answer on FMA and One Piece. Al's voice in japanese was a little echk.
and Darkness, after watching first 15, and not liking it, i guess i can't really say more. You don't like the anime, and that's fine.

Shin-Chan still kept the Japanese humor that we get. Lucky Star is so odd to me that I need to have wikipedia and dictionary.com open in seperate windows to get 7/8 of the humor >.>
