ps3 problems

To start I'll tell you that I have the 40gig. So anyways it started a couple days ago. I was playing merc2 and GTA and everything was running great.But then the next day I got home from school and put GTA in.But this time it didn't load.It was stuck on the loading screen with all the pictures.It would just go on forever. So i thought it was corrupted data, so i deleted everything about GTA (game progress,online profile,gta multiplayer update) so the first two did nothing, but the update was the problem. When I tried to delete the file it failed (not in an epic way though).So it said the hard disc data was corrupted (of course). So i restarted the ps3 and then it gave me a screen that said "The hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored". So I restored it. After it completed it restarted but the same screen came back. It would do that over and over again.So I cant get out of that restoration screen. The only solution I can think of is getting a new hdd. So thanks for reading this, if you have any thoughts of how to fix it please tell me

Same thing happened to me after an Update. After youve been prompted to restore your Ps3 go into the Settings tab and manually format your HDD. Worked for me.

well when i get promted for it it says press the ps button to begin use.so i press it but it gives me that - sign

Wow, that seemed like one mishap after another. Glad to see its working for you again, but man that story was a lot like a snowball rolling down a hill.
