This means, in a nutshell, changed the industry as a whole. of course you could put Final Fantasy, Super mario 64 or Final Fantasy 7 on there, but thats cliche.
Here is mine. GTAIII FOr obvious reason. It was the first real Sand box game that was put together in a way that worked and didnt try to trick you into thinking you had limitless options, but actually gave those options to you. It has been copied multiple times, but rarely done as well. the most recent game that worked with this is Saints row which i really enjoyed. (sold it like a dumbass though).
so basically, this game is the first REAL (real as in known well by the masses and such, you could say elder scrolls did this, but before morrowind it didnt have such a fan base) game to give you all the options and let you finish the way you want to. Great game. can't wait for 4
What do yall got?

007: Golden Eye Revolutionized the FPS genre. It's fun fast paced missions, guns, and, controls influenced the shooters of today. That game was epic and what's so funny about it, is that it's a movie game.

Final Fantasy VII for obvious reason. Revolutionized the turn based RPG and really helped bring gaming into the mainstream.

The original Half-Life, hands down.
Was the first FPS I played that felt like more than just shooting shit. Probably the game I have ever played the most. I had over 300 hours in the Snark-Cafe sven server alone.

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy.
This was one of the first games I was really attracted to. Its style, its story, its action and gameplay made it the best game I had ever played, and I still think that. All this, and the awesome humor of Daxter. What more could you want. ;D

Dynasty Warriors 4. I used to play this game with my friend all the time when we had free time. it was insane and fun and exciting. I never played the game and got mad, I was only happy while I played it and it was really fun. Also this might sound a little bit of a cliche but Wind Waker is my favorite game and the only game I could play over and over again. I borrowed this game from my friend cause I was at his house and the only other zelda game I've played was oracle of seasons, so I thought it'd be a little different. It was so much fun. I literally couldn't put it down until I was forced to leave the house lol. in all trueness, I don't even own the game lol but I can see myself getting and playing all of the zelda games. I beat Wind Waker, Oracle of seasons/ages and the linked game which anyone should do, it is tremendous fun especially when your trading the zelda game with ur friends other zelda game and try to race each other. I am getting phantom hourglass also so I should be very satisfied with it.

Whoever's spamming: I hope you burn in Hell. In fact, I'll meet you there
Anyway, to stay on topic, the most influential game in my opinion would be ICO or Shadow of the Colossus because Team ICO really took a huge step toward making video games into more of an art form. That's what I think anyway, both games blew me away

Metal Gear Solid 4, probably not changed the industry, but it used every single gigabyte on the disk and made every other game made mediocore.
