3rd person usually has the better storylines while FPS has the better multiplayer. And seeing I'm more of a person who looks at videogames as another venue of telling a story, I'm gonna have to say 3rd person btw why not just make this a poll? Yep, because Gears of War has a better story than Half life 2. are you kidding me? They're both pretty abysmal. I'll admit that HL has been getting a bit better, but the original HL2 story was utter crap that might've been acceptable in the 90's with the likes of Quake, Doom, and the first HL. But once again, the story has been getting a little better. And also, GoW2 looks pretty good and it's supposed to be much better than the first one story wise. and either way, generally, mystatement is true.

While still not excellent, Half Life 2 did improve greatly over the storytelling of Half Life 1. The only thing about Half-Life 2's story that wasn't really that great was the ending, but for those have played Episodes 1 & 2, they probably left it like that on purpose knowing they were going to make Episodes out of it.

i agree with phillip, gears of war did have a better story than half-life, and another TPS, Army of Two, also had a great story but crappy multiplayer. The only FPS that i play that had a somewhat better story than either of those would be CoD4.

TPS seem more like a movie in action, while a FPS makes you feel like you're the one that's doing the fighting. In truth, though, I love TPS's. But like exocel said...it depends.

First person for most things, but third person makes things feel different in a way that I enjoy. They both work for whatever game they are in.
