Will there ever be a Death Note sequal?

Everyone knows that Death Note is probaly one of the best anime/manga ever but will there ever be a sequal? and how would that work out anyways?

. There was a little extra chapter, but I highly doubt that there will ever be another Death Note.

Story of somebody in the past that had a Death Note?

I'd like to see a sequal, probably one with new characters all connecting to the death note and the people that had them in the 1st season.

really, the story of death note is pretty much concluded. anything they try to do afterwards would just feel like a cash in, even if it wasn't. however, if it were to have another season or story in the manga,

it would probably either follow near and his crime solving or go back into the past to when a death note entering the human world first happened, during the dark ages. imagine if just a poor man found it and understood what it was and wrote down names of people he hated but soon he became obsessed with killing. eventually others caught on and many killed the holder of the note to gain it though through many occarances, the note kept exchanging hands and bringing more and more death. eventually the human who got the note last was already sick. he wrote down a name before dying, then the shinigami reclaimed his lost note and went back to his world, thogh got an appel or 2 before going back.

meh, its pretty crappy but then again, has a little potential plus since its the dark ages, it would explain the deaths and explain the no mentioning of the actual note.

after the 3rd movie of Death note, i can't exactly say that there will be another sequal of it.

Sadly, great shows must come to an end.
