i got a toshiba regza 42 inch 1080ip hd television with my student loan last year for £349.99, which is about $576, if you can catch one of those in the shops there the size of a large window so there big enough, they arent the best picture around but my ps3 looks fantastic on it.
Though if your being cheap there are some options, ask if they have any display ones theyve lost the boxes to, sure you might have to take it home wrapped in bubble-wrap but ive gotten £100 of a pc monitor that way. Pretend your after a more expensive model thats out of stock and they might throw in a hd video cable, i got that with mine and a £99 surge protector.
Basically shop around malls and stuff and if your just after a cheap, big hd tv thatll last you a good 5 or 10 years you might get lucky.
