Mods Not Doing Their Jobs

For the most part, I have no issue with the way 4pp mods handle chat. But after today's ridiculous situation in chat, I think that even if nothing is done, this must at least be acknowledged.

As I'm sure we've all heard, Michael Jackson is dead. A fact which every member of chat felt the need to inform us of at once. With 1,500 people in chat, it was divided into two rooms. The main room was put into friends-only mode, and slow mode was taken off.

The problem is, all of the mods stayed in the main room, where everyone was behaving, leaving only Aznsenzati0n to handle the second room, where all hell was breaking loose. Despite being asked for their help, no other mods came into the second room. Chrono took one look at the second room and left. None of them took it upon themselves to actually do their job. Nor would they allow slow mode to be put back in place, which would help the one active mod do his job.

I know that the mods get a lot of unnecessary criticism, but this isn't a matter of them abusing their power. This is a matter of them simply not using it.

My favourite part about this whole situation, mods enter chat and see Azn struggling. Chrono makes one comment and leaves. Greyfox enters chat, then leaves soon afterwards. Thanks for helping Azn out with crowd control guys...

I agree with Queen-- I've had NO problem whatsoever with the Mods and how they Mod beforehand.. but it just got insane in the 2nd room. It was full of spam, and many many MANY stupid people. More than usual, I mean.

And who was there to help?

Just Azn.

In reply to this, whilst I get on with some of, and respect all of the mods, I'm disappointed with how this has been handled.

I know some mods, perhaps one or two due to friends only mode being on, have to stay in in room 1, but there are far more mods who could easily help out who have been viewing since the start of the broadcast.

I realise that the view is room 2 is full of idiots, but not everyone in the room is idiots, and there are some competent chatters, who are frankly having an experience ruined by idiot chatters. Personally, Azn shouldn't have to purge all these people alone.

I can understand the reasoning for not having slow mode, but if thats the case, we need a few mods in room 2 to keep chat under control, as slow mode hasn't been on for over an hour.

Its just disappointing frankly to see this. Stranger, I really don't apprieciate that view at all.

Apparently slow mode has been put on now, but eh.. Azn was going on for over an hour, and I saw two instances where mods entered the chatroom, and left, and some people (not mods) telling Azn to leave. Personally, I don't like that at all. There are still some chatters in 4PP room 2 who are competent, even if perhaps some of you don't seem to respect that.

I agree with you queen. It was a jungle in there. Mustard and Azn were having a hard time controlling everyone. I hope Azn gets something for being such a good Mod.

I really don't like the chatters telling Azn to leave. Im sorry for what Azn had to deal with.

I didn't make this thread because I feel offended by the fact that room 2 is being ignored. I made it because quite frankly, it's the job of the mods to deal with things like this, and that is a job they sure as hell weren't doing.
