post your favorite boss fights of all time.
here are mine:
5. granfaloon (castlevania: sotn): it's not very hard to beat him, you just have to hit him, as much as you can. but i like his designe and the location, where you meet him. it's just one of many boss fights in sotn, but i liked him the most. very disturbing by the way.
4. baby bowser (yoshi's island): at the beginning he's really easy, but when he gets big and starts coming closer and you have to throw eggs at him, it gets really tense.
3. nihilanth (half life): the first time i played hl, i wasn't expecting such a huge boss. and then all of a sudden, he teleports to other places and you to destroy those crystals and stuff... really great.
2. magus (chrono trigger): you walk through a halway, the lights are suddenly switching on and then you're face to face with magus. wow.
1. the sorrow (mgs 3): play it, words can't describe it.

3.Cyberdemon this guy was one of the coolest bosses I ever saw and one of the best demons in doom 3.
4.Hivemind The final boss from Dead Space this was a fun fight once it puts you up in the air and you have to aim.
5.Raam from gears of war...hes Raam hes cool end of story.

5. soma in julius mode of castlevania dawn of sorrow. i had tones of trouble fighting this guy, even maxing out my stats to see if i could last longer. it wasn't until i just let myself view his attacks that i realized the pattern and was able to beat him. just to prove to myself i could do it, i started a new game and went through low level and was still able to beat him.
4. Star wizard from golden sun the lost age. what i like about this boss is that if you have been doing a djnni summon strategy most of the game, you will find this a challenge for it creates 4 balls that you have to force to be in your favor or else you'll never win. the whole fight felt very rewarding when you get him to have 4 purple balls out and you start wailing on him.
3: thardus from metroid prime 1. i like this boss cause its the first real challenge i had in the game and the rock hitting samus in the back of the head after you beat him always makes me chuckle.
2. Ganon's final form from ocarina of time. being forced to fight him without your master sword and how you have to strike him really changed all the gameplay. it was actually better to unlock yourself to get behind him sometimes.
1. Curtis Blackburn from killer7. i don't know why but this guy has always left an impression on me. maybe because hes a cold blooded killer? maybe becasue he trained dan smith? maybe because he killed dan? (dan dies more then once in the story) maybe because he is actually running an organ plant and using children as the sorce. whatever the case, he has always left an impression on me and the fight itself is very interesting. (stupid pigeon)

I really enjoyed King DeDeDe in Kirby's Dream Land. Great music for that fight.
And Rawk Hawk in Paper Mario: TTYD.

5) Seymour from FFX. Holy jesus, back when I first played this I'd come home, try and beat him for hours and then go to sleep. Then repeat this for a long ass time...When I finally beat him, it was a pretty big accomplishment to me. I then looked u I was about five or six grid sphere movements from supposed to being able to fight him. Yeah...love his design and the whole Guado (lol Guido) thing.
4) Nemesis on his super quick form...can't remember when, from RE3. 'Nuff said, it's a badass boss, though he's not really 'a boss'.
3) Doku from Ninja Gaiden. His first form was probably the hardest boss fight in the game, and the Kitetsu is my favorite weapon in the whole damn game. His second form is cheap as balls though...friggin' 20 ft. backsword...
2) Incubator/Demon from Silent Hill 1. Especially the incubator...that was a really cool fight, and especially was a fight that had some semblance, and very obnoxious when you get one or the other when you wanted a certain ending...grrr.
1) A collective of all three boss fights from God of War. All completely fitting the word epic, each was difficult in its own right, and each had so much awesome attacks and tactics that made the fights really really cool.

5. Devil May Cry 3: The first Dante vs. Vergil fight. I took my sweet time with that one, mainly because I love one-on-one sword fights. Also, seeing Vergil's hair fall down near the end of the fight, showing the he and Dante were definitely twins, was also a nice touch. 4. Devil May Cry 1: Dante vs. Nelo Angelo. I loved fighting up against him; see #5 for my reasoning. Also, taunting at the same time that Nelo did made the fight all the more fun. 3. Resident Evil 2: Mr. X creeped me out the entire time I played that game. It was a joy to kill him near the end of the game XD. 2. Castlevania - Aria of Sorrow: *SPOILER!* Soma vs Julius. Aria of Sorrow was actually the first Castlevania that I played all the way through (yes, I missed SOTN, which makes me sad T_T), and I must say it was quite fun. Julius was my favorite boss out of all of the bosses in the game, for two reasons: A) He's a Belmont; fighting up against him was going to be a challenge :3. and B) The music that was there. When I listened to the first Castlevania's music and then I listened to Julius' theme, I was like " " Great music to set the tone for the fight. 1. Metal Gear Solid 1: Psycho Mantis. Can anyone say "destroyed 4th wall?" Not only did he read your mind (that is, judge how you were moving through the game), but he could also read what was on your Memory Card, and also make your controller move (yay for vibration!) Fighting him was amazingly fun, not to mention the fact that it was almost a completely 4th wall fight o.O. Plugging the controller into controller port 2 was a brilliant means of combating him. To see him return in MGS4 was even more of a treat. 3 words: "VIBRATION IS BAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!"

Honestly, I can only think of two boss fights right away that made me exhilarated, and they're from the same game: Madworld. I also don't remember their names, but I'll describe them. *Please note these have slight spoilers in what you do to finish them.*
1. There was a man on roller blades that looked a bit like a cowboy and had two guns. At the end, you end up getting his guns, and you fire into him repeatedly by shaking the nunchuk and the wii-mote. For some reason, I got so pumped that I was short of breath when he ended up a bloody mass on the ground
2. There was a scantily clad bat lady in a church. She continuously mimes statues surrounding the main room, and you must find her and grab her. She then tries to bite you and you must, once again, shake the nunchuk and wii-mote rapidly. You then proceed to make a slashing motion upward (downward?) with the nunchuk. Between the music, and face paced style of this fight, it was very very fun.
As a whole, I think all of the bosses are wonderful, but I really enjoyed these two.
P.S. I was just reminded by reading Manulito's post about another favorite boss I have.
3. Grandfaloon from Symphony of The Night was composed of bodies, creating a mass that had many human cries every time you struck it, and corpses staggered towards Aluccard throughout the entire fight. Wasn't hard, but I remember seeing that when I was little, watching my brother play. It stuck with me until I played the game myself.

I'm not sure about a top list of boss fights but I absolutely loved the final battle against Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts 2. It took me a few tries seeing as how I had no idea what in gods name I was doing in some of the sequences but I really loved how some of the special commands/attacks worked out against him, the dodging maneuvers as well as the small part where you get to play as Riku himself.
