I'm trying to get excited for Bayonetta because it looks like a genuinely exciting experience but I just can't. I've watched the trailers/videos, listened to podcasts and Brad's gushing and it sounds like something I'd be interested in but I'm finding it extremely difficult to commit to the hype.
Assuming it has nothing to do with the sexuality, my theory is that people excited for Bayonetta have a pre-existing appreciation or familiarity with the Devil May Cry series that is encouraging (or discouraging) their excitement. If that were the case it would explain a lot because I could never get into the Devil May Cry series either.
It's difficult to understand the hype through words though so I'm hoping a demo is made available. Otherwise Bayonetta may be a purchase I make after the price drops.

Well yeah, it looks like a great game. AT first when I saw it I thought it would play like DMC (And really DMC doesn't like a good game to me). But now that I've seen more gameplay of it, Bayonetta looks like one of the games I'll have to debat about getting for the 360.
Also I'll just leave this Combo Trailer Video up if you want to see it.

It's probably like that in some cases, but not across the board. I, for one, have never played a Devil May Cry game, and you've probably noticed that I'm pretty excited for Bayonetta. In my case, my excitement comes in no small part from my familiarity with Platinum Games/Clover. I know I've mentioned this before, but they really know how to polish a game in every respect. So that's the source of my excitement, at least.

Monsters seem like a lot of fun to fight, the combos look interesting, and I'm curious as to what the story will be like. Also, Brad pointed out numerous times that Platinum Games has made great games before, so I doubt it'll be terrible. I don't know if I'll buy it right off the bat yet. Here's hoping they release a demo for it, don't want to spend $60 on a game I might end up not liking.
Looks like it'll be great for stress relief though.

I'm actually really excited for it just because of the way how everything flows so smoothly, people might say you'll never have a perfect game, but that's just because they haven't seen this one yet.

Mostly since the game has Sarah Palin and it has kickass scenes in the trailers, but I might rent before buying.

Bayonetta looks like it can definately be a great game. On the other hand, these types of action games don't really click for me, so I probably won't be buying the game. It does look very interesting, though.

Bayonetta is only appealing because it's a 'hot' girl with big boobies. Enjoy your 18-34 male demographic appeal with lacking gameplay and unsatisfactory dialogue and voice acting.

I'd have to disagree. Judging by Clover/Platinum Games' previous productions, I'd say that they really know how to make gameplay very fluid and solid. My personal favorite examples are Viewtiful Joe and Godhand. Godhand in particular used controls that felt awkward at first, but which allowed for very fluid and satisfying control once the player got used to them. Now, you want dialogue, that's a mixed bag. Clover's dialogue tends to be somewhat cheesy, but in an intentional way that I happen to like. Again, case in point, Viewtiful Joe and Godhand. Not everyone likes that sort of intentional cheesiness, but I personally love it. ...'Course, if you're not a fan of Clover's previous works, it makes sense to not be excited for Bayonetta.

I can see the possible success in the game, but im not crazy excited about it. It just doesn't really bounce off the page for me
