It seems like almost everyone on this board constantly talks about animes, dosnt anyone watch japanese dramas aswell?
If you do, post here, talk about what youve been watching 'n' whatnot.
Im pretty new to the scene but ive watched my fair share already.
Been watching Atashinchi no Danshi for a while now (epsiode 10 should finish being subbed today). If you are into j-dramas im sure youve atleast heard of it, its very popular at the moment, nearing the end though . David also showed a few of the episodes on japancast a while ago.
Blatantly stolen description: "These days, the term "homeless" has taken on new meaning. There are youths referred to as "net cafe refugees," who have neither a job nor a place to live, but who find themselves hopping around internet cafes. One such refugee is a 20-year-old girl named Chisato, who lost her mother at a young age due to sickness. She spent her youth trying to escape from the huge debt her father left her, and her battle with the repossessors unfolded every night. However, her life changed after meeting one man named Shinzo, changing her views on the meaning of "family." Shinzo comes from a rich family tracing back to the Edo period, and he adopted six good-looking sons with the hope of one becoming his successor, but all of them have strange personalities. Shinzo promises to free Chisato from her debt if she marries him and becomes the mother of his sons. However, a life with these six guys under one roof will not go smoothly"
So Chisato (Horkita Maki) basically becomes the mother of 6... I would say kids, but 4 of them are older than her! So, 6 males. Shes stuck there due to a contract she has to fullfil due to her fathers debts to fulfil it she has to reach 10 mothering goals. After a while she wants to live there looking after these people though, rather than just doing it for the contract. Nothing really works out at first, massive personality clashes n whatnot, slowly its all been coming together but massive plot twists every 2 mins (may be an exaguration) dont helping the matter. Each of the sons backstories are slowly explored throughout the series aswell, giving more plot twists! (japanese love their plot twists it seems).
Im not quite sure what is making me enjoy it so much, or the majority of j-dramas for that matter. The japanese are just write a good story i guess?
Aswell as that ive pretty much been watching alot of stuff with Horikita Maki in it, shes been my gateway into these dramas i guess. I even watched the 2 episodes of Cartoon KAT-TUN (sort of a japanese talk show) she was on
So, anyone else been watching this/other dramas?
