oh man, setting aside the obvious ones like N+ i gotta say final fantasy tactics advance.
been playing it on and off for years but only put 47 hrs in and got to lvl 30 with my characters, why?
FUCKING LAWS!!
they can make the game unplayable, its illegal to use swords, magic or movement, swear to god i got that in a fight against a totema or something.
and i was dusting it off last night and the enemy boss got 22 bloody yellow cards, i instantly got red for the same infraction with the main so its an instant game over, and at the end of a 40 minute fight too.

FF10, I'm fighting Seymour Guado, when all of a sudden he manages to kill Yuna in one hit, I didn't have any Pheonix downs and I'm pretty sure he was almost dead since I was battling him for around an hour, needless to say though, he brutalised me after my healer went down.
Also in the PS2 cel shaded Dragon Quest, just failing to kill the Dragovian king dude in his dragon form. After about 2 hours of fighting him. D:

CoD4 - The Mile High on veteran I was trying to beat the mission for the acheivement for like 4 hours then when I got to the end with the hostage situtation, all I needed was a simple headshot. My hands are shakin my hands are shakin! I still shoot- WAIT WHAT!! I shot the hostage because his head got in the way at the last second. Seriously I wanted to take a hammer and smash my walls to tiny bits, but I didnt of course. I just chilled then came back and beat it 3 hours later

D: I've had the game since day one, and I still can't beat him. And two hours? I spent more than four on him, you consider yourself lucky you didn't ALMOST beat him, only for him to totally rape you after four freaking hours. I had a hammer and am surprised I didn't kill the people who lived across the street.

I don't really have anyone time in particular, but any of the times that I went for long periods without saving and then my dog or brother would accidentally unplug the console.

Not sure if this really is an "Oh no!" moment, but it certainly f**ked me over.
When I got my 360 back from the Repair Center, I decided to pick up where I left off in Oblivion. I did a couple of Arena matches and did some quests. Leveled up from 7 to 8.
When I was doing some of the main quest, I sold a book I needed for the quest at a trade shop in the Imperial City market district. I couldn't buy the book back, and I didn't think there's another copy of it. So I thought, maybe I could load a saved game before I sold the book, but the only recent saved game was when I was a level 7.
Then I said, "Screw it."

Oblivion, not an "Oh no!" moment....more like a "HOW THE f**k DID THAT HAPPEN" moment. I've stolen nuts from 3 shops, I forget to deposit stolen items, but I wanted to be in theif guild to fence them. I pickpocket infront of a guard. Wasn't too bad, but for some reason, Im very good at lockpicking, broke out of jail, went to evidence. THE CHEST IS A VERY EASY...Mind you I just broke out of a Hard jail with 1 lockpick...I f**kin mess up on a Very Easy chest...Well...Last save was at my last stolen shop, so all I need to do is get my steel armor again and then go to jail again for the Theif guild.
EDIT: Lawl...I stole nuts from 3 shops....

A lot of times in GTA4 with the chase missions. I can share Brad's sentiment in those highlights, just makes you want to scream.

Mines not really because i died, but here it goes. I was playing oblivion on my level 23 archer with over 100,00 gold. I didn't know what to do so decided to start a new guy. So i saved up my file, and then made a new guy, a Battle Mage. So i went through the starting prison dungeon, blah blah blah. Went to the shivering isles to get some good madness gear for my adventures. Blah blah blah, went to fight the gate keeper, killed the gate keeper, and then saved the game. Saved the game over my level 23 guy with a level 1. I haven't touched oblivion since, I'm too traumatized. sorry if it was too long.

I'm not sure, but it would have to be one of the times I forgot to save.

I was playing Bring Down the Sky for Mass Effect on my PC, when I confronted the main Batarian extremist. I had totally forgotten that he would kill his hostages if I elected to shoot him, so I chose that and *blam* go the hostages and the facility director's best scientist, and gave me an assload of Renegade points I didn't want. I killed him and completed the mission, but I started the whole thing over to save the hostages. Also when the final Berserker appeared in GoW. Those cookies will be remembered.
