I think the best way we could conserve and support those troop's lives is to get them the fuck out of there. They shouldn't even be in Iraq.
I personally don't support the war. But that doesn't mean I want anybody to die. Often when I say to people that I don't support the war, the say "Oh, so you don't care if the troops die?". I'd argue that I support the troops two times as much as that person, because isn't having them safe in their own beds a better way for them to survive than to keep fighting?

We're pretty much stuck in Vietnam 2.0, and I bet we'll end up getting out of there like we did before - with guys running onto helicopters to meet a deadline.
