I've been recording all of the E3 coverage from G4 via a DVR. So far ive only had enough time to watch all of Microsoft’s and EA's conference and about half of Ubisoft's, and i have to say....
Microsoft...great as usual, very strong line up as always
but...
EA...boring as usual
Nothing from EA really got my interest, I mean ya...that star wars thing looks alright, but i personally think Star Wars is pretty much dried up as a franchise and Lucas should get as far away from the drawing board as possible.
One game did catch my interest tho, a title that kinda the mysterious dark horse of the conference and no one has really been talking much about it.
A game called 'The Saboteur'
Below is a link to a video showing The Saboteurs presentation at E3

Kind of an interesting take on a WW2 game huh?
GTA, Medal of Honor, Hitman, and Ôkami mixed together?
Been reading up on the plot...standard straightforward revenge story
Irishmen Sean Devlin is a regular among the racing community in Paris during the times of Nazi Occupied France. For the most part he ignores the Nazi presence, until one of his friends is killed by the Nazis. Realizing that Sean can no longer turn away from the situation, he decides to become sort of a freedom fighter as he takes up arms with the assistance from the French Resistance as he takes revenge against the Germans.
The color scheme demonstrated in the video linked above is not only very beautifully done but also a very unique feature of game play
The designers call it the "Will to Fight" factor...or WtF *snicker* ;D
The WtF factor is the determination of how strong the Nazi presence is in the area, areas with low WtF turns the entire world into black, white, and various shades of gray; only giving exception to the many bright red, swastika baring German flags. These areas will be choked with large numbers of German soldiers constantly patrolling the streets. The citizens are submissive and the French resistance has little or no presence.
In areas of high WtF, the world turns vibrant with color. Most of the German presence will stay concentrated to bases, barracks, police stations or areas of general importance. The citizens become vigorously defensive and the French Resistance is always watching your back.
======================
All and all, the idea of the game, in my opinion, has some true potential. My only worry is the developing team, not the strongest history....
Hopefully they will be able to do a good job with this one.
What do you guys think...is this a developing dropout?...or a possible success?
