Wow, I never thought someone would or even could quit such a small community. It is simply a quite normal development. Of course they get popular since they are are very funny and have a unique touch. Plus the Youtube videos raised their popularity even more. I suggest one should look at it from a different perspective - I mean of course we all long back for old days but that is a common human illness we only miss what we don't have. Just think of an old game you would say that it has been better before everyone had it because everything was new, fresh and etc. I am rather new to 4PP myself and I have noticed the vast increase in viewers too. But it could be worse since the message boards are still up and running and you still see the "common" faces appear. Leaving should be never an option, as already stated this is a growing and developing communiy otherwise if it always would have stayed the same it would have gotten boring very fast. Why ? As already mentioned - We miss what we don't have and we get boring of what we do have.
A simple solution for the actual mutual problem would be a moderated chat. As in only members get access and can even lose it if they behave wrong. And how to do that ? Just set up an IRC channel. I am sure that is something rather easy. Or just manage yourself guys ... I think we are all old enough to organise more private conversations.

Honestly the rise in viewership was kind of a surprise to us. Usually these people come and go, and the faithful stay, but it has gotten out of hand lately. I can't say the large viewership is a bad thing though. We do our best to keep things moderated, more so than other channels. And while many won't come back every night, there are people who do like our broadcast who do become more faithful viewers. And we are always happy to see returning faces.
We have been very busy working on things to improve what we do in all respects, but it can be overwhelming at times. We are trying to come up with ways to get the people more faithful to 4pp involved with what we do. We are constantly discussing this. Skype calls from more faithful listeners, forum highlights, podcast segments, alternate forms of chat, and more are all ways we are trying to expand and improve on. We never take you guys for granted.
Trust me, your frustration doesn't come unnoticed. I have been aware of the larger influx of people lately. All I can say is stick around, use the forums to keep up with people who really care about the show. And like I said before, expect to see some fixes to these problems in the near future.
Posting here in the forums is a big deal. It really does help show us who is dedicated to 4pp. Notice that nearly all of our mods are commenters or forum posters. You guys don't go unnoticed.
I'm just a fat kid who screamed at a ghost. Bear with us here.

You know, I'm disappointed you would make a topic like this cortex. The 4pp's growth as an entertainment/social entity has been something incredibly rewarding to see. That growth has encompassed a massive amount of fans, but it hasn't in the least diminished the 4pp's qualities. Just look at the progress over the recent weeks/months: They've added a secondary channel (4PJ), they've enhanced the blog, spread to YouTube, and even created this forum. It's all an effort to increase appeal and interact with you the viewer. That's why I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed you would make this topic and announce your departure from the 4pp because to me it signifies loss. To me, you're saying, "Despite your efforts, I'm leaving. This show is only enjoyable if I have priority." Come on, show some persistence.

I need to watch more but I've been hooked to WoW. It is sad to see Cortex go, I remember back in the Urban Chaos days chatting with you sometimes. Please revise your decision...

This is a great forum post, I came here after watching the infamous "Scoota Brothars" video on youtube (You can blame AutummTheCuzzy for posting all your funniest moments on youtube I guess) and the first thing that was typed was "Scootah Brothars!". People obviously think that hype is recent and such and therefore spam like that. But given enough time and enough patience maybe we could reduce the noobtubers, I was one, but I learned very shortly in a couple of days what this was, This Is 4PP*Kick* and now I visit everyday and nearly know everything going on, like Laurenbeast and her lust for Juan, how Nobunaga is mighty and such, and how malkovich9 is Brad, and how Yagabaga is plain kookoo (No Offense). I do believe that directing noobtubers to a FAQ of 4PP will help them learn the ways. We should try to do something like that.
Or we could always purge them.

I love 4PP, and will continue watching it. It is hard to talk with slow mode on tho, but I know why its on. *Wonders when I joined* I came around when they were playing the first Condemned, good thing I bookmarked the channel.

I first came around to 4PP when I first heard about Justin.tv and I loved them. I don't think I'll ever give up and stop watching, because when I see Brad playing till 5 AM or 6 AM just for a small amount of viewers left I think, "Wow, now that's dedication right there" The viewers get to watch all 4 of you and even Juan, Jessie, whoever else is playing while everyone is doing all the dirty work behind the scenes setting up stuff, posting blogs, improving the podcast, trying to broadcast every day, I've got to respect all of you to keep up with this and not giving up and saying "I can't do this anymore" That's why i'll always be a viewer.

yeah it is cool to see you guys do this every single day of your lives, cause I know I would have gone off on a tantrum with all these ppl in the chat, but u guys handle it really well. (at least what we see on screen not off lol) and u update your blog everyday with new info and fun stuff for us to see. I'm happy that you guys do all this because then viewers like me and others don't have to be tortured in the feed and can stay up to date with the forum or the blog OR the podcast *notes fourplayerPODCAST* I have to thank you guys for a lot of things b/c one day in october-november, my gamecube broke some ppl may say "oh its a gamecube pfft thats worthless" but I'm not fortunate enough to be getting new systems all the time and the only good one I had with games I could play was the gamecube, and it broke. so I pretty much since then stopped playing video games all together and instead just kept watching videos and reading stuff on the internet on video games. but I saw 4pp and initially thought that 4pp was 4 Asians (this is when David was playing Pikmin with his Asian friend) lol but then I came back the next day and realized how stupid i was lol. and ever since then I've been watching them. and one day I thought "you know what? FUCK IT" and I went on the internet and searched on how I could try to fix my gamecube. and long behold I fixed it and its working better than ever now. So 4pp not only helped me learn more about games, they also help me continue playing games and I thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for that b/c now since I pretty much begged my parents to let me get a DS for my birthday (even though im turning 17 :\ ) they let me get one which make me really happy cause now I can see how you guys feel about new handheld games. So thank you so much for helping me do all that I could, and pretty much start playing some games again. I honostly swear that I would not be where I am now without watching and finding 4pp. I know this sounds like a cliche or creepy or weird or skeptical and I'm sorry for that its just that I really appretiate you guys for just doin what you do. I feel sad that I'm not able to watch the feed atm but I hope I can later. Also, you guys have helped me see that its not weird for liking different games, or watching them online, or for listening to video game music lol which ppl say I'm weird for doing all the time. so thank you very much and I hope that you guys continue to do what you love to do for a long time to come and never stop doing this b/c its really something to be proud of doing.

Truthfully, I may have only been here for a little while, but I can definitely sympathize with some of the "veteran" viewers complaints, heh. There are alot of cool people that I have met in the chat room that I try to have a conversation with, but I usually can't because while slow mode does really help the server out, it does constrain people's abilities to have a fufilling conversation if you ask. While I still do see the neccesity behind it, I just wish things would've been a little more different and some of those "odd" new viewers were a bit more respectful, cause there are some cool dudes in the chat, like Harle, Chrono, grey, school, etc...lots of cool peeps!
I'm going to stick with it for quite some time, had alot of fun the short amount of time I've been here. Wish you saw it differently, cortex.
