Gameplay 9/10
Gameplay is realistic, you are able to roll, duck in between shooting. Driving also meets realism with the slow, heavy, olden day car handling, making car chases enjoying but also annoying.
Story 10/10
Story is unique, none like other before, sort of GTA’s “drive here and shoot em up” style, but has its own unique touch. Mafia takes place in Lost Heaven.
You are Thomas Angelo, a taxi driver in the 1930’s then one night you are needed to help a bunch of mobsters with no choice, they like you, you join them, and start to work for a well known Don, that’s when the real story begins.

Multiplayer N/A
No multiplayer what-so-ever, there was talk and progression of a multiplayer modification, but was scrapped or forgotten about? Multiplayer racing files have been left in the game content.
Graphics 8/10
Pretty good for its year (2002) Not cartoonish, realistic, car models are very detailed, interiors are highly detailed, city itself is not as generic, based on NYC and Chicago.
Sound 7/10
Olden day music, simular to Fallout 3, different music for each district of the city, suitable sound effects and music for the mood of each cutscene. Gunshots and car engines are good.
Conclusion 9.5/10
This game was a fun experience for me, one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played in my life so far. To me this was a Mobster Simulator.
Ps2 Comparison 4/10
Don’t get it, only if you want to see how bad the port is, I didn’t even get to the point where I was able to shoot someone, a very bad version with limited options, with highly scaled down graphics, lack of draw distance. In the PC version, you could either turn down Music or SFX separately, in the ps2 version, its joined together, meaning you need to turn down both.
Do not get turned off by the lack of draw distance on the left, there are several gameplay improving mods on the net that will get rid of draw distance alltogether if your PC can handle it.
