I was just thinking about this recently as I had a strong urge to play some older SNES, N64 and PS1 games last weekend. Back when I was younger I used to trade in and sell off my older games and consoles to always get the newest stuff I wanted.
In hindsight I really regret it. If I had probably kept all my older stuff and waited for newer stuff to drop in price (as it always does, today some prices drop within 3 months) I would have a very nice, accessable retro and newer game collection to play at my will.
Well im just venting out loud, anyone have any similar experiences?

i feel the same sometimes. I always sell games only to re-buy most of them later at a cheaper price. If i had all the games ive ever bought I wouldnt have space in my house to fit them all. hell, i dont have enough room to fit all the stuff i have now speaking of retro games, i just found my atari 2600 along with about 100 games for it. It was boxed up in my attic

Hmm actually I didn't sell them. I just didn't play it anymore. So my parents took them away or something. Or gave it to friends. I never sold or traded my things. I always keep what I buy because what you get back from it is soooo low. I kinda miss Donkey Kong for the SNES though. I loved that series. I'm quite satisfied with my DS. There are lot of retro games revivals so that's even more fun !

I miss giving away a lot of games. Someone took my NES when I was younger for some reason that I don't remember why, but I had a lot of sweet games for that. Also 2 years ago I left my Genesis at my friends house and he joined the army taking it with him!

I forgot what exactly I sold it for, but I think my biggest regret was selling my one and only copy of Monster Hunter....
Damn, that was such a good game, too.

I JUST sold all my PS2 games in antiapation of getting a 40gb ps3 for my birthday. I just found out I'm not getting a 40gb. I'm getting the MGS4 Bundle, you know, the 80gb with backwards compatability!

The only game I regret giving away is Kingdom Hearts. I miss playing through that game a lot.

The only game I really regret selling is Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. I got so aggrivated with its difficulty that I stalled out and sold it to GS a month thereafter. Sadly, I can't find it anywhere at a decent price anymore, and it has one of the best soundtracks in JRPG gamedom.

Same thing happened to me with Mortal Kombat man. I just feel like playing old school MK with a friend sometimes and I totally regret selling them in the past.

One regret was trading in Americas Army: True Soldier. Crappy it may be, I just loved giving orders to other players when I was squad leader.

I regret selling a lot of games. It's become ridiculous because the past few weeks I've ended up buying all my old games back from Gamestop.

After the Nintendo Conference I have decided to sell my Wii, and my games for it, and buy a PS3.
