I tried broadcasting today on a webcam and it all went to hell, cant get any focus and setting it up is a nightmare. Bearing this in mind i started looking at other solutions and was wondering what you guys use to record from your xbox and pc?
Specifically what you use on your pc, do you use a videa capture card? If so which one? Do you need a hardcore machine to run it?
Specifically what i want to do is show what is on my monitor online live as a feed, but i cant workout how

Ive been looking into recording console footage to my mac for a while now and ive read about signal splitting and getting a new cable to do so, ive tried sending it through a camcorder to my imac but that wasn't successful, but fi you google it theres some good sites focussed on the process.

I would have to probably do some serious research or if the 4pp guys see this they can probably give you some advice. Have you thought about sending one of them a private message? ((This Message was purged for spamming about selling gold)) OMG! Hahaha Isn't that something? Nice. xD

Indeed, I too would love to know what their setup is like. They should actually have a sticky post on it with pictures of their setup for broadcasting the consoles and PC with audio. (probably a mini 4 channel mixer?) I see devices like the Hava Platinum and BlitzBox from Blitzcast, but it almost seems like it'll restrict you more than help. Any tips would be awesomely appreciated. I want to retain playing in HD locally (hopefully with sound too) while broadcasting a direct feed, not some craptastic webcam pointed at the TV. You guys should also probably disable guest postings.

Well I have no idea what they use but for my broadcast I use the Red Dazzle capture device, into WebCam max, and then Flash Media Encoder. For audio, i use a microphone... whoo, actually the rock band one works great(so ghetto... xD), but I'll be getting a mixer soon.. if you need help setting any of this up PM me, i'll be glad to help.

I thought about making a channel to broadcast but then realize I have no idea what to use and that it probably costs a shitload of money to do too.

There are lots of tutorials on how to stream video games on YT and other sites search for them.

There are several ways you can do a good broadcast.
Using a notebook/laptop--
Dazzle DVD Recorder (Composite Cable (SD Output))
OR
HAVA Wireless HD (Component Cables (HD Output)
(Optional) Webcam software for PiP (Picture in Picture)
Audio Mixer for mixing up audio levels.
Headset/Built in Mic
Using a regular computer--
PCI TV Tuner (SD Output)
Sound/Audio Mixer
Headset/Built In Mic
(Optional) Webcam software for PiP (Picture in Picture) ---------
some people think that they can't broadcast in HD because of the bandwidth and capability issues with HDMI. HDMI and component are the same really, but HDMI is digitally encrypted so in can go in 1 stream. so the HAVA gives you a good slightly obscure picture quality.

One more thing I would like to add please dont post in topics that have not been active fo 3 weeks thank you. I don't see the problem tbh. I can understand if it was a shameless bump or a stupid comment like 'lol' but if people are still willing to contribute with good info then there's no reason for people not to post in old threads. At least thats my thoughts.

Holy crap! Was that The Tom?! From myspace?! lol Perhaps. Well, the only thing I found was Blitzcast's Blitzbox for feeding (at the least) quality video while passing it through to my TV sustaining 720-1080 for my own play with no delay. Problem is, they aren't selling it! They have a newer version coming out "soon"... but they keep saying soon, and it has been months. Very disappointed... That's why I wondered what 4pp uses. Seems every time I ask in chat here and there, I'm ignored by everyone. (Is there something I don't know about asking about this?) I'm saddened that no one at 4pp will reply with a quick spec of what they use. I'm not expecting a how-to-use tutorial at all. Just some feedback since I enjoy watching all their broadcasts. *shrug* Oh well... it was worth a try I guess. I'll wait around for a response from one of the 4pp guys, if they actually say anything on here.
