Alright guys, I will start adding up more threads in this topic by adding my personal reviews on either new or slightly old games. This week's topic will be Hitman: Blood Money for the xbox, Playstation 2, PC and the Xbox 360. Of course this review will have Spoilers, so for anyone who hasn't played it, and would like to, please try to resist from reading.
I will start with:
Cover box - Sure not the best, but sure as hell not the worst, it's just something about blood dripping off piano wire that looks so d**n good, and the style of it is about the exact same as the graphics of the game itself.
The Controls - Well I've played this game on the original xbox, and the controls seems just about perfect and handle well. You wont be having any trouble with reloading or anything. Of course, these are all based on the original xbox controls. I would give the controls a 9/10 for the xbox
The Soundtrack - One of the best I've ever heard! Much, if not all of it, was classical music like the Intro, was a Jesper Kyd mix of Ave Maria. As soon as you hear that song playing at the title screen, you will get an idea of the game and how it would seem. The music keeps its richness all the way through the game, even at the very end. Playing this game once will certainly keep at least one of the scores from this game in your mind for a few days. I must say, there is no way I can give this any score lower than a perfect 10/10
The Gameplay - Well lets begin it like this...
The Levels - Every single level is amazing in this game, but the ones that really caught my attention was the Opera House and the White House. These levels could be either long and tedious or simple and quick. You would definitely need a strategy for this game, meaning multiple runs through the levels. Timing is everything in this game and of course, even if you do a level perfectly many times, there are still times were you can get caught. It has happened to me many times, even near the end after the assassinations. I would rate the levels all together a 9.5/10
Stealth - The Disguises and plainly hiding from sight, it was yummy, lol. Like if you are wearing a certain disguise and you have a bullet wound, the guards/officers would start to get more suspicious, naturally. Changing your outfit out of sight of anyone will help you escape the suspicious people and be able to get into restricted areas to get your kill. There are also electricity boxes, which you can break and distract guards to fix them in order to sneak by and get your kill or simple leave a hostile area. There are some problems with stealth though, as if you think you are out of the clear just because you changed our outfit or your stealth meter goes back to normal, once you get into sight, they start shooting. This problem has annoyed me many times and even now, I still don't understand it, could it be a glitch? I would give the Stealth in this an 8/10
Weapons/Upgrades - I have to say, Holy poo poo. The weapons are wonderful, and the best part is, you can select what weapons you want before the mission, and you can upgrade them with money you receive at the end of the previous mission. From pistols to machine guns, Shotguns to sniper rifles, this game has so many to choose from and you can also keep guns you find in the game and select that for any mission. The Weapons and Upgrades in this game was easily hands down one of the reasons I love this game so much. Give your standard Pistol a scope and make it automatic, or give yourself two pistols together. Basic weapons like your piano wire, and syringes definitely help you through this game, there is not one type of weapon you wont need. Upgrades consist of making your Gun better for you or worst, you can make it silent or loud even shotguns. Quicken up your reload time, and accuracy. There are also miscellaneous upgrades, like better body armor, pain killers, and better lock picks. The only thing I was disappointed about was there were no upgrades for the guns you picked up during the missions, but that is something we can overlook. 10/10
Aiming/Running - Now these are the two things I'm a bit off about. Aiming was good, but not great. Sure the upgrades help but poo poo, it could be hard to see what your aiming at when the reticule could be tiny as hell when you sniper or look through a scope and when you think you have a perfect shot, you can still miss by a few feet, odd? To me, yes. Something I hope they improve on a tiny bit in the next game. Running was also something else I had a problem with. HE RUNS SLOW! I know he is in a tux and dress shoes but d**n man, it takes awhile to run back for something you forgot or need. Just make this assassin a bit more agile? please? 6/10
Story Line - Alright the Story line in this ties in with the ending of Hitman: Contracts, again, another amazing game. You are the Infamous Agent 47, a clone of the best assassins ever in the entire world. You kill for money, and while you are making the dough and being the perfect and stealthy assassin you are, another assassination organization is out to kill you and the agency you work for. As you make your contracted hits, you learn more and more about this organization of assassins and the less assassins your agency start to have up till you are the last one. The story continues up till you kill the leader and the assassins for the opposing organization of killers, with a major twist in the end. 10/10
With that, I come to a conclusion...
