I couldn't find the list of top five's thread. I thought of this while I was looking at the vc thread in video games regarding david and everyone's thoughts and emotions.
So here's another one for you guys to think of.
Top 5 games that made you emotional
Mine.
1) Valkyrie Chronicles ~ I have not played this game but by watching the guys play I started to actually feel emotional at times especially when Isaru(I think that's her name) dies.
2) Echo Night Beyond ~ The kids and the cat in this game made me say awww... and I got teary eyed a few times. This is a strategy/horror/Survival game.
3) Fatal Frame Series ~ Let's face it, the series is kinda scary.
4) Final Fantasy X ~ The story, characters, the music and the fact that I can explore is pretty awesome.
5) I'm going to say Shadow of the Colossus ~ Amazing graphics, amazing music and for some reason remind me of zelda. I felt bad for some of the colossi basically because I thought they were sooo amazing and well created. It's another one of those games that you can play over and over again and still be amazed. I think I cried a few times in the beginning.
So about you guys?

here we go, my top 5 emotional games. with added pictures to balance out the text, as i like to do :] NUMBER FIVE:KINGDOM HEARTS II -PS2-Had a great theme of friendship throughout the entire game, and the second half really hit home the emotion and scale of the whole adventure. by the time they returned home and the ending cutscenes started rolling (with delightful music sung by utada hikaru), i really felt relieved and happy for the characters, as well as sad that the adventure was over. NUMBER FOUR:SIREN: NEW TRANSLATION/BLOOD CURSE -PS3-Wasn't emotional in a teary way, but in a "oh-my-god-please-don't-let-the-monster-get-me" way. this game totally converted me into a fear-stricken 5 year old in an inescapable nightmare pretty much all the way through. never has a survival horror game been so menacing and hostile to my nerves. this game specializes in just one emotion: FEAR. but it does it so damn well. it's a beautiful game as well, and the best next-gen survival horror game out yet. NUMBER THREE:FINAL FANTASY IX -PS1-The first final fantasy i've played, and still is my overwhelming favorite FF released on the playstation. the cast of characters are so different, but unite and truly care for each other. this FF has been criticized for being too sappy, but to me, they had it all right. the last act was the first time that i was fighting back tears while playing a game. it was also the first time i threw my head back in relief and sorrow that i had finally finished the game, closing my eyes and remembering all the great moments i've had playing it. it made me realize as a young kid that games like this are worth living for xP NUMBER TWO:SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS -PS2-As little as they tell you about the actual story, it's amazing how it was able to make such an impact on me emotionally. your character comes into an empty temple and lays down a lifeless girl, a sleeping beauty. the game never tells you if she is his love, sister, or a friend. but whoever she is, he is willing to do anything it takes to bring her back. and the things he does are absolutely astounding; and heart-breakingly tragic. by the time i finished the game and looked back on everything i went through just to bring back this girl's life, i saw so many things about the main character. he loves her. even though they never tell you, you know their connection was so strong and deep that i couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion by the climactic ending. NUMBER ONE:VALKYRIA CHRONICLES -PS3-This game for me, contained the full spectrum of emotions, and i savored every minute of it. Not only is the story full to the brim with charm, good nature, and fun, but it has its share of anger, loss, and sorrow. it reminded me much of FFIX in that way, and that's how i got into the game in the first place. even beside the main characters, there are secondary characters that you personally hand-pick to be on your squad, and it's tough not feel even a little emotionally connected(or a LOT, in my case) to your teammates. every playable character has their own unique strengths and weaknesses that aren't just numbers on a chart, but they're based on their personality. you'll find yourself choosing squad members that you like, instead of members that simply have the best stats, which makes this game so special. on the field, whenever they unlock a potential, gain an extra shot, or dodge an enemy's fire, i can't help but feel so proud of them that i have to shout out at them in praise (as david says, "OUTSTANDING SOLDIER!"). the emotion is not limited to the cutscenes, but in every aspect of the game. No one can replace my unbeatable ragtag group they call "the 7's". that, combined with the amazing storyline, makes my #1 emotional game.

I'm not really sure I have five...
...anyways, in no order other than the order I thought of them in:
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2): The full-scale emotional roller coaster. No game took me from laughing out loud, to being creeped out to, and to the verge of tears quite as completely as this game did.
Final Fantasy VI (SNES): This is more of a retro-emotional kind of thing, I guess. The first time I played this game, I was too young to really grasp the emotional parts, but looking back on them, they are just heartbreaking. Maybe it's just the nostalgia speaking, but when I get around to playing this again, I'm sure I'm going to at least get misty-eyed.
StarCraft (PC):
Another golden oldie. Actually, I don't know if it was the game as a whole, or just the final mission briefing for the Protoss, "Eye of the Storm". Both Tassadar's and Raynor's speeches give me goosebumps to this day.
Well...not just that scene. The opening cinema for Brood War so depressing (when the UEF battleship pulls off, leaving the Dominion troops to their fate...while a marine on the ground looks up in disbelief as zerglings charge from either side of him), and it made me feel evil when I had to hunt down a certain hero in the last few zerg levels.
Call of Duty 4(Xbox360):
This wasn't really the place I was expecting to get emotion...FPSes usually don't bother that much...but Call of Duty 4 had some pretty power scenes. From the sheer ear-to-ear "I am such a bad***" grin you get on your face during the AC-130 level, to the haunting nuclear blast scene, to the heartbreaking last firefight...not to mention, in my opinion, the Call of Duty series is are one of the few FPSes out there that deliver the "OHCRAP!OHCRAP!OHCRAP!" feeling of being pinned down by heavy fire perfectly.
I know there's more...but thats all I could think of off the top of my head.

1 - The Legend Of Zelda - Windwaker This is the only Zelda game that feels different to me, with the sea instead of a field, and the funky cel shaded graphics. These graphics really help to convey the emotion in the game, and i think it fleshed out the characters. The first time i played through two scenes got me, the bit where gannondorf gets ya and then valoo just owns him, man i love that scene. Then the zelda revealed scene, that was a not so well hidden but creative twist for the series 2 - Sonic Adventure, throughout that whole game you just couldn't get ahead of Robotnik, every time it seemed you'd gotten somewhere he managed to thwart you, this was great in a sonic game cause previously sonic had just been kicking eggmans ass. Seing the egg carrier just obliterated by Chaos was awesome, i hope they come up with a creative storyline like adventures again, one without werehogs, one that doesn't rip adventures storyline and replaces chaos with a fire beast, a good one. 3 - Silent Hill 2 Man, i felt so connected to James in this game, although i'm not sure why considering his... past. The terror of seing ph through that cage, hiding in the cupboard from him, having to fight him, i was terrified. That game makes you dread seing ph, just seeing him in a picture scares you, and thats why i loved it. 4 - Driver, the first one Frustration... You remember frustration. Frustration is almost connected to my Driver experience, that game is so unforgiving, yet so enjoyable, it's a love/hate relationship which totally wasn't worth the sequels @.@ 5 - Rayman 3 Why did i choose this? This game was awesome, not the main game as such, that was just okay. The best part? Freaking, Mad, traxx! The Gamecube exclusive mini game, 2 controllers, 2 gbas, 4 players, mad traxx. This is the most fun ever. A gba player makes a track through an asteroid field using tetris blocks whilst the controller player drives along it, the track gradually falls apart over time too. So many nights were spent trying to get to the end of the course with two players and after that, many nights, even up to now are spent doing co-op races, hoping to and from each others tracks as we race to the finish. Best co-op game ever!
