Get rid of the highlight reel?

Hey guys, I got an idea!!!! You know what would be an awesome idea to strike back against the chatters! Let's make all the 4pp broadcasters wear voice maskers and make it so they only broadcast sounds! Than, they should stop broadcasting about video games!!! We'll totally throw the spammers through a loop.

You guys are trying to solve the problem by censoring everything that makes Four Player Pod-cast what it is. Think about why you're here. I don't know about you, but I stuck around as long as I have because of the highlights and youtube drawing me in. In short, you take away the highlight, you hurt 4PP in the long-run. Sure, you might want to keep 4PP all to yourself, but it's growing and those annoying noobs are going to be regulars one day.

Considering there are already other outlets for highlights (The Clips tab on their channel and their YouTube Account) it really doesn't matter that the highlight reel was removed.

At the risk of sounding like a douchebag, it was one of the 4pp's decision to remove them, no one made them do it, so people who are used to the highlight reel are just going to have to deal with it.

Now that it's gone, chat shouldn't be spammed with "lolol gient spook man omg XDXDXD" every damn time a broadcast is about to start. Although this morning there were a few people dropping in complaining that it wasn't there, but that should go away soon enough.

Personally guys,

Lately you have been getting so popular. Mostly because of youtube clips and what not. People used to come in from youtube watch the highlight reel and stick around till the broadcast started. Then get informed that you have a Podcast and a Forum. Thus increasing the popularity of the podcast. Which is what you guys started out doing in the first place.

Who cares if there annoying at first, everyone was new at one point. If they keep the highlight reel off sure it will decrease stupid posts and spam in chat, but it will also decrease the number of new viewers you guys could possibly be getting.

If getting more popular is what your after I suggest keeping the reel up. But thats jut my opinion.

Thing is though, is that we're not all ignorant and immature 12 year old boys. Sure, there are some kids who don't fall into this, but for the most part, that is what the majority of chat is. They will watch one broadcast, annoy the chat, troll it, and leave.

As others have said, changing the reel won't do anything. They will just quote newer clips instead of older clips. Sure it will be nice to not hear about Nobunaga or barrel rolls, but soon it will be old and repetitive like before. This isn't fixing the problem, it is just changing it.

I honestly think that nothing will fix this problem and everyone will just have to continue to deal with it. If you're sick of hearing the reel, pause it or mute it. If you're sick of hearing people quote the reel, post a link to the rules. Mods will do their jobs if they continue to quote.

Removing it may seem like it will help, but it is a nice way for new people, who may be finding 4pp through Jtv since it's on the front page so often, to see what 4pp is all about. The sudden jump in users has to be from the jtv main page, not youtube, though we all know many find it that way. Some people, believe it or not, DID find 4pp some way other than youtube. *Me.* Seeing the reel helped me decide if I would come back and watch more. I think it should stay, whether they find a way to update it or not, it doesn't matter to me.

You have a point there, instead of chat using "NOBUNAGA!" and "Do a bearrrel roll", we would see "Where's the goo?!" and "Use stasis"

I agree with you on your last paragraph too, I never really took that into consideration.

Even though David already said, I want to see the highlight reel changed not removed. But as David said they can't change it... God JTV sucks.


Edit: Well, even though it's a nice warm welcome into the 4PP community, it would still be nice if the viewers could have a nice update every once in a while. Also consider this, if newbies always see Brad playing Fatal Frame on the reel, there is a chance that they are going to be one of the PLAY F4T4L FR4ME BRAD PL0z!!!!! people. Maybe if they filled the reel with some random funny clips that will cut down on retarded spammers. It would be nice for a change but I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
