In my opinion, I think video game requests in the chat window should result in an automatic time out unless the broadcaster asks for them. They never work, and just piss of whoever is broadcasting, i want to know if anyone has had success in a request, and obviously i want ur guys' opinions as well
mods, if possible, can you vote AND post your opinions, I'm looking for your answers in particular, but that's not to say that all your other guys' opinions don't matter.

I believe you can change the title of the thread by editing your first post. And second its against the rules to request a game, song ect... And I have never asked them to play something else.

really, unless they ask, requesting ANYTING in chat should be considered as spam, because it's unnecary/unrelated/ANNOYING posts that flood up chat, and are one of the reasons we almost always have to be in slowmode.

i think slow mode is kindof a good thing. it gives ppl a chance to be seen/heard by the broadcaster

Heh I put down don't care cause it really should be more of a basis type thing. lately there has been a lot of like brand new fresh off of youtube chatters and walking from a left4dead clip to see them playing something like "in the pit" or "showtime" it's a bit expected for them to say something like play l4d. Tho the ones doing it in caps or like putting ! marks after it deserve it even if they are new.
Tho is more work for the mods to on their end when they don't feel like slaughtering chatters which is rare lol.

I think that overall, about 60% of the requests do deserve TOs, but you''re right minion, most of them are fresh off youtubers who haven't read the rules yet

I think if the same person requests a game more than once *if noticed even during slow mode* that they should be TO'd. I don't think all requests deserve to, and the newcommers deserve a warning. But there are plenty of times when I see someone request a game, a mod says "please don't request games," and they request again. I think these people deserve timeouts.

"Hey guys, do you reckon you could play Left 4 Dead after this?"
A polite, innocent request from someone appealing directly to the channel owner. Appears to be new. Should be notified by others in chat that game requests when not asked for are not reccomended and then should be given a link to the rules for any further clarification.
"PLAY FATALE FRAEM"
Instant T/O for these fuckers.
My point is that people do genuinely don't know how 4Player Podcast works. We do get fresh people joining who've seen the highlights somewhere and want to watch some entertainment much like any AVGN or Zero Punctuation or any other internet shows. Sure it's easy to label these people 'youtubers' for acting newbish, but I doubt many here can say they found 4PP or even jtv without watching one of their videos on youtube in the first place. And I'm even willing to bet a few of you have asked a game request or discussed nothing but wanting to see Brad scream for the lulz. But, if 4PP didn't want to gain new viewers they wouldn't bother putting up any more videos on their youtube account.
All I'm saying is not to quickly judge or insult new people for breaking a few minor rules or not getting to grips with what 4Player Podcast and the community are like. What we should be doing is informing and encouraging them, hoping eventually they soon become well mannered, friendly viewers to see and chat with. Maybe even becoming popular regulars. But of course we'll carry on timing out any asshats who clearly just want to be aggravating.
Minion is right, moderating a chatroom is (Or should be) a basis sort of thing. Its hard to keep a chatroom lively and enjoyable while retaining order. Like when a small joke spirals into reccuring spam, or how many ! is too many. We could either be totally strict with zero tolerance or let everyone get away with anything. Its black and white, but we try to work within the grey area if you understand. Yeah, this is starting to sound a bit of Judge Dredd philosophy, but in all honesty thats kind of how it works. The internets. Serious business.
