I can't stand seeing this in chat. There needs to be a rule against it. I know the people posting this stuff are just trying to help the mods out, but it's starting to get to a really stupid level now, with people posting it every opportunity they get. Let's get a few things straight: Doing this will not get you modded. Doing this will not get you laid. Doing this will not gain you respect. Can there please be a rule against posting the rules unless you're a mod? Or even better, can 4PP put a link to the rules in the about me section, that way we probably won't end up with idiots constantly posting this link. It's sad really. I mean the guy in the example picture posted this every minute, religiously, and then because he was doing it, some other people copied him, creating a snowball effect.

if more people followed the rules there wouldnt be a need to spam it every 5 secs

The thing is, there is no need to spam the rules.
At all. People who don't follow the rules just get timed out most of the time.

I do agree with you in a way inquisition, some people do spam it so much that it's just stupid. I've even see people asked to be voiced just so they can do it. But beersofwar has a point, more people do need to read them, if they did there wouldn't be a problem. But even when people post links to them I don't think people read them anyway.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with you inquisition. If people weren't breaking the rules of the chat every day then maybe we could not post the rules so often. However, there is also the point of new people coming in every day- people who don't know the rules or how to access them. There, is where the people who post the rules come in. I know for a fact that Darknezz doesn't do it for the sake of becoming a mod but just so that the idiocy may stop in chat every three seconds. It may not do much, but it's always worth a try.

I have to agree with Miharu but I agree with the snowball affect you are describing. I know it can be annoying to see the Rules posted in chat a lot but it is worth a try. I think Darknezz is doing ok keeping it to every 2 minutes or so during busy chat with slow mode. It is the other people who tag along that get annoying. Last night there must have been 4 or 5 people posting the rules, not including mods. Dark was doing what he usually does while the other chatters looked like they were trying to get some chance at mod status. So in my view, posting the rules about once every 2 to 3 minutes is fine. But if you are doing it to suck up to 4PP or become a mod like Inquisition said, then it isn't going to work. So if you see one person posting the rules, it doesn't mean you have to as well. All we can do is hope that some new chatters actually click the link to learn the rules.

Darknezz isn't trying to be a mod Darknezz is not trying to get respect
Darknezz is sick to death of the new people who think they don't need to read the rules when they join 4PP's channel, as am I. If rules were a bit more harshly enforced, or if people actually took the time to read the rules in the first place, there wouldn't be a need for it to be repeated. Instead, what we get is mods giving seven different warnings about caps and spam before anything is actually done. I'm not trying to bash the mods here, but I do think we need to start being a bit more strict.

That message is necessary inquisition. so that when he comes back, A.) he won't be bitching about "WHY DID I GET BANNED" and B.) he'll know what not to do next time. even mods do it. it's necessary. even if a new guy does it.

Right. Let's make a rule against posting rules. That makes total sense. ^_^

its ironic, it really is Some people will post rules about 50% of their posts, but they dont see the first rule 1. No posting links during chat without getting permission from the mods or 4PP cast first (4PP links are ok, but don't spam them).

i talked with you before when you were trying to run the chat. but now about the rules, we NEED to show the rules, and by linking repeatedly, some people with half a brain cell would think "oh hay! i need to click this so i dont get purged and bitch about being TOd for 10 minutes" but no, nobody thinks that. darknezz was doing a very good job at this, so many new people (such as yourself) were trying to take control of chat and so darknezz decided to post the rules repeatedly to get yall to stop

Pssh Dark doesn't post the rules EVERY minute it's been the new people posting the every minute lately. Yes it can get annoying BUT the Idiots of chat gotta get the message. The rules links has been posted many times before, but not at the frequency last night. I found it to be ridiculous myself. But the rules link is also there to show people why they got a time out so they have no excuse. Dark may seem a bit annoying to you but he means well as he want's to cut down the idiocy in chat. However this is hard to achieve with a constant stream of new people each night.

That was only because chat was moving really fast when I first started, and when chat calmed down, it had become a habit until some people bit ched at me. That aside, thanks, Iku and Stranger.
