Voiced Viewers

Yeah, it should be left to the mods, but obviously the mods are incapable of reaching a decision. Several times, I have asked mods about why no one is ever voiced; Some of them do voice people, others think it's playing favorites, whatever the reason, no one can decide on if certain people should be voiced or not.

Take tonight, for example; Chrono decided to voice Iku, Dave and I so we could post the rules link and to try to help chat not be chaches. Everything's going good for a while, and Pennz0il even shows up. Around ten minutes after she does, Dave and I are unvoiced, leaving Iku with voice. It wasn't pennz0il, I trust her word on that. No reasons, not even a word of it, just simply us being unvoiced by an unknown mod.

That's what brings me to the tipping point of bringing it up on the forums. Can we at least reach a consistency? Allow or don't allow voiced viewers as a whole, don't sit there and have some people voicing people, and then other mods coming in to unvoice them.

It's just stupid.

Now, as for my position on it, I see no reason we shouldn't allow voiced users. Yes, it could cause spam, but that's why you voice members you know aren't chaches.

Reasons to voice people who aren't chaches? We don't yell EPIC FAIL, and actually have conversations, for one. For two, it's not like it's hampering the mods job of moderating chat, which is the only reason for slow mode itself to begin with.

Adding to you statement. Is there any mods that are not on this forum? I mean that didn't join the forum and are modding in 4pp.

I'm pretty sure about every mod has joined the forums. Not sure what that has to do with anything though.

I think the only people that should be voiced are ones that are helping the person broadcasting through the game.

an IM is a replacement for that. therefore there isnt anyone that should be voiced...correct?

I didn't really care that I was unvoiced. I wasn't really posting the rules that often, so it's understandable why I was unvoiced. I know I should take a stand every once in awhile, but voice isn't that big of a deal. I do agree, however, that you, dark, should've stayed voiced. Dunno why pennz unvoiced you, but she might have her reasons.

I didn't unvoice darknezz or dave. Promise. They were voiced by another mod and it is not my place to take that off.

Call it playing favorites but the only people I ever voice are vrictor (who doesnt even chat much) and yagabaga ( who has been watching 4pp since forever, i love her.) , then occasionaly someone to help me post rules.

I perosnally believe that if you would like to have a conversation with one of the mods, help whoever is playing, or whoever is making legitimate comments, you should be voiced. Iront and I, for example, had a wonderful, yet brief discussion about music, and when the conversation ran its course, I requested to be unvoiced, and all was good. Also, there should probably be a cap of how many voiced people there can be - 5-10 people. It's worked before with people like dave, skyliner12, as well as another person and myself, and if a mod believes the group that is voiced can behave, then more should be allowed.

No one should be voiced. No one in the chat has anything THAT important to say that they need more than one post to say it.

Forums are for conversations, chat is for idle chatter.

That's the point, though; How many times have you looked at chat, thinking, "Wow. These people are so stupid... How did they survive long enough to get an internet connection!?"

At least voicing members that aren't chaches, we have normal conversations, rather than, "DERP DERP PLAYER GTA4 COD 4 IS GREATEST GAYM EVAR DERP DERP." At least with voiced viewers, we have the ability to answer new peoples' questions. Far too often, I've been trying to ohld a conversation in slow mode, and then someone asks a question right after I put up my message and it goes unanswered, to which they usually respond with breaking chat rules.

Yeah, they could, but the situation last night was that Cosmic had to leave, and no other mods were on, until Pennz0il popped in.

It doesn't matter, though; If not being a complete chach in the eyes of the mods means posting the rules every few minutes, well, so be it.

voice is only for people helping the member of 4PP who is playing the game and besides once one person gets voiced it becomes "VOICE ME PLOX I AR TEH BEST VIEWR VOICE NAO"
