As you may have read, we will be starting a new podcast "side-project" early next year. Each show will consist of an in-depth discussion of a game that we have all been playing over the past month. Our first episode will focus on "Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath" for the original Xbox.
There will be a segment of the show that I will read viewer questions, comments, or stories related to the game so feel free to leave any comments about the game in this thread. Feel free to talk about anything you think the game does good or bad. If you have any questions about the game, please leave those as well.
Also, I encourage anyone out there who is interested to play the game along with us throughout December and post your impressions or thoughts in this thread as well! I hope to get plenty of responses since the first episode is still a month away!
Please remember to leave your first name, location, and JTV name in your response! Thanks.

The currency system, having you stay in the game most of the time without the hassle of looking for health, and combining two different views earns my props for the game. However, I hate the little annoyances and difficulty structure that is placed...since I feel like they were trying to extend the game much more by making it this difficult. If it was just a little less harsh then this wouldn't be a problem. The game is also a bit repetitive at times until the later missions, which turns the pacing a bit since the first few missions were practically the same...over and over and over. This game is still great and is definitely one of those missed games not many people remember for its interesting inventive features that most games...don't dare to do.

I had beaten Strangers Wrath maybe a year or so ago. Did not regret getting the game at all as it was a very comedic and interesting adventure. Seemed kind of like Psychonauts as in they're both great games just not very publicized at all. Anyway point is it's an awesome game and I hope you guys playing it will persuade people into buying the game so I can see another dang oddworld

I never played any of the odd worlds cause the main character always scared me as a child.

I loved the Oddworld series but I never played Munch's, or Stranger's Wrath even though SW did seem cool at the time. My only question is, is it BC on 360? Because if so I might see if I can pick it up and play through it by the time you guys do the podcast.

Just a note, I went and picked up the game today. Brought it home... NOT COMPATIBLE WITH XBOX 360! I'm very dissapointed as I do not own an Xbox. Unfortunately I won't be playing this gem along with you guys. Again, for anyone who wants to play this game, it is NOT backwards compatible.

I should be getting my copy in the mail within the next few days. I ordered it off gamestop's site. Actually ordered two by mistake and can't cancel one of them so...lol
Anyway, it looked like a lot of fun when you guys were playing it, and I love bounty hunters. I hope I end up liking it since I bought it twice!

I played through this game last month and it was just a coincidence that you guys were doing this at the same time. So i guess ill just say what i liked and didnt like about this game.
Pros: Innovative controls, good use of first and third person camera, funny and i liked the voice acting, but i know lots of people that dont. I also liked the money system, but the thing i liked most about this game is the ammo system. I thought the ammo system was very unique and interesting. Each type of "ammo" had its own purpose. The "ammomals" (lol) had good animations even when they weren't shot yet. Some of them even spoke to you. Also the fact that you could have two kinds of ammo in the "chamber" at one time forced you to be creative and think about how you could capture your bounty alive. The upgrade for the ammo added more uniqueness to the game. And one other thing, i thought the graphics were pretty good for an xbox game.
Cons: The game did get a little to tedious for me. Also the game lasted a LOT longer than i expected it to, i think it took me around 12 hours i think. I also disliked.......actually, thats all i didnt like about this game.
This was my favorite Oddworld game and im glad you guys are trying to bring it to light. I really enjoyed this game, it was fun, funny and unique (as most oddworld games are). I think that if they made it a little shorter, i would have enjoyed it more. I urge everyone to buy this game as it IS only like $10 used. Hopefully more of these games will be made, but its unlikely.
again, i really dug the ammo system in this game

I just got it yesterday, and played 4 hours straight. Its a great game so far. I really dig the ammo system and how you earn more moolah if you capture them live. Makes it more of a challenge when there's a load of enemies running at you to try and capture most of them. I've brought back all the targets alive so far. The one that gave me the most trouble was the first female you need to capture...gah. I figured out eventually that you can knock her out with the bombbats (I think they're called) easily but before that she was getting right back up to shock me on that line. And the enemies kept respawning, I was so close to raging but I think I beat it just in time, lol!
Its really fun. Controls take time to get used to like many have said, but it doesn't take that long, and it really flows once you get the hang of it. The biggest selling factor to me was that it was a platforming FPS hybrid sortta thing, and those are probably my most favorite genres. They did a really good job at it, and I'm kinda sad it didn't get as much attention as it really should have.
Thanks 4PP, for shining light onto this great game!

Yeah, I just got this game at Game X Change last night. I got home and played it and I was very impressed. I like the innovative ammo system. I also like how you can press a button and The Stranger will have his own comment about what he should be doing, it makes the gameplay more fluid.

I played Oddworld Strangers Wrath several years ago, and remember thinking, "this game is fucking hard" but I pushed on and persevered, With the help of cheats. Back then I liked the game, and was happy to be playing something different (mainly just Halo played back then). Looking back on it now I recognise just how much good stuff that game had. Perhaps my favourite part of the game was the setting, having never played the oddworld games before, I found it to be strange but good, especially with its odd twisted sense of reality.
Being able to switch from third to first person perspective at the press of the button was one of the games best features, allowing you to tackle a game as a beat-em-up or a FPS, even if you did tend to rely on the first person for combat and third for platforming.
However this game was far to hard in my opinion and could have done with a lower difficulty setting, ensuring I would not become too frustrated that I would have to rely on cheats. Also the first half, or part of the game seemed completely seperate from the second part. With the first being mainly based on collecting bounties and the second more based around the story, Only a small amount of the story was dealt with in the first part in my opinion.
