What's your favorite/least favorite genres?

Favorite: Strat/RPG, J/WRpg, Modern Adventure

Least Favorite: RTS, Sports, 3d Platformers

Favorites:

Platformers-
Not sure what it is about them, but they're pure unadulterated fun for me. They usually aren't extremely tough, and I'm not a big fan of games that are extremely hard. Every once and a while they're fun and different, but not all the time. Platformers always help me to relax and play some games.

RPG-
Akin to the easiness of platformers, they're generally of ridiculous content. For me, RPGs of good quality are king, but most of the time, any ole RPG as long as it functions as a questing time sinker is good enough for me. They're generally monotonous and just a nice time passer. Though, complicated RPGs are really the best, I really don't mind the content.

FPS-
MY HEARTS BEATING, MY HEARTS BEATING
MY HANDS ARE SHAKING, MY HANDS ARE SHAKING
BUT IM STILL SHOOTING, AND IM STILL GETTING THE HEADSHOTS
ITS LIKE, "BOOM, HEADSHOT! BOOM, HEADSHOT! BOOM, HEADSHOT!"
That pretty much sums up my love for them. They're crazy adrenaline rushes.

Action/Adventure
The better polished, the more awesome they are. Titles of God of War are standouts.

Puzzle games-
My best friend. From Tetris to Puzzle Quest to any of its kind, I love these for the pure fun factor.


Least favorite genres:
RTS
Boring.

Sports
Boring.

Favorites:

GOOD First Person Shooters. Ones that are either very unique in their idea, very good at their design (NOLF and Half Life series stick out for this qualifier), or are just a blast to play (Timesplitters and Urban Chaos stand out for me).

Action/Adventure: They are just really fun IMO.

Arcade-y/non-realistic Racers (however you want to classify them): The Burnout Series is one of my favorites of ALL time, and I like just going fast and careening around corners without having to really slow down.

Least Favorites:

I don't really have a genre that I hate, and everything else that I didn't mention I can play and enjoy, but I enjoy said favorites the most.

sorry in advance b/c most of these aren't "Genre's" but their games with these elements.

I LIKE: any free roaming game, any games that have GOOD interaction with driving cars, or horses, or bikes or anything like that, Action-Adventures, Level up character games, multiplayer fighting games, HACK AND SLASH FTW I love those types of games so much lol. and I like rhythm games a lot also.

I DISLIKE: any FPS's, I don't know what it is about them I just don't like them. Not cause I'm not good at them, I just hate the control scheme unless its a point and click shooter like house of the dead or anything like that then I like those. but anything that involved aiming intensely like you wouldn't in real life I hate. I HATE turn based combat so much, only b/c I just want to go up to them and stab them and leave. not wait 30 seconds to do 4 dmg points lol. sports games are stupid b/c if ur gonna play a sports game, just go play it outside for free lol.

anything else is pretty ok by me. racing games are in between cause some racing games like mario kart, burnout, diddy kong racing, cruisin USA (yes, I picked an N64 game) and Krazy Racers are fine, but stupid games like "ULTIMATE RACING" "RACING 2008" "JEFF GORDON RULES AGAIN" and games like that are just boring to me. I need excitement in my racing games, not just going around in a circle errr oval errr odd shaped track.

I think its impossible to hate house of the dead.

Even the 3rd one, the TEN MINUES LONG, 3rd is good in the arcade, ever try that?, you shooting zombies with a big-ass pump action shotgun controller, all they gotta do is rig up a lawnmower controller and you can go all frank west on them.
