Hey everyone, long time no see! Anyway, a little update on some recommended anime...
First of all, I've been watching a lot of Rozen Maiden. It's an odd show, and definitely more for those who like watching cute anime. Definitely entertaining though, plus, it has multiple seasons.
Next, Black Lagoon. This show is, for lack of a better description, off the hook, balls-to-the-wall, pure badassery. The comedy is well executed, and the anime is definitely enjoyable for those who love dark tongue-in-cheek humor.
Finally, Bamboo Blade. I've only seen a few episodes, but I'm really enjoying it so far. The variety of characters keeps the show fresh, while still adhering to a storyline. It's also a cute show though, so if you can't handle adorability, you might wanna stay away, lol.
Anyway, I hope to get back to watching the broadcasts soon. See everyone there!

'appleseed' never watched it all the way through... want to however. Parts I did watch were pretty good.
'Clannad' watch parts at a local anime convention. Funny parts stuck out the most for me.

'appleseed' never watched it all the way through... want to however. Parts I did watch were pretty good. The 2004 Appleseed movie was VERY good and, to me, it was a must see. However, for some reason, it took me a couple of watch-throughs to understand the story completely. I guess I was just too mesmerized by the CGI and forgot to pay more attention The sequel, Appleseed: Ex Machina, on the other hand, wasn't as well received as the first, but in my opinion, those people just love to complain. I personally loved the movie, and if the CGI in the first dazzled me, this one blew me the f**k away, lol. The looks of the characters changed slightly, though, so it could take a bit of time getting used to. Plus, it was produced by JOHN F'ING WOO!!!

Also, Juan, Black Lagoon is VERY interesting, and looking back at my post, I should have given some sort of story synopses for the shows I listed, so I'll try to shortly sum up the basic idea of each...
Rozen Maiden = Self-isolated middle school boy is pestered and annoyed by a set of living dolls known as the Rozen Maidens. However, underneath this basic idea lies the concept of the "Alice Game" where the dolls must fight to the death to become "Alice"
Black Lagoon = A group of mercenaries known as Lagoon Company operating in Thailand perform a number of jobs from stealing a Nazi painting to picking up a shipment of guns from a group of nuns using the church as a cover to smuggle weapons. The story mainly follows from the point of view of Lagoon Company's latest recruit known as "Rock" who is a former Japanese salaryman and hostage of Lagoon Company.
Bamboo Blade = A broke high school Kendo teacher in heavy debt makes a bet with another teacher and old friend who was his senior in school. Both must assemble a five member team of female fighters and if the "main character teacher" wins, he gets free sushi for an entire year. If his rival wins, he has to give up an old trophy that they competed for in high school.
All three are very entertaining and I recommend seeing them all.

to hell with Spam!!! >.> Purge the cur!!
but also on a more relevant note:
since 4pp is going to do a horror week in september, maybe the japancast should show some JHorror like:
-4 Extremes (also includes Chinese and Korean horror) -Suicide Circle
not sure if these are classified as appropriate but I don' t think there's any nudity in them.
This movie isn't horror, but I would also like to see :
-Takeshi Kitano's, The Blind Samurai: Zatoichi
I need to learn the story behind the tapdancing...

I've already mentioned Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek, but other than that, I dunno what else is there, as I'm not too fond of scary movies, games, anime, etc. Anyway, please consider it.
