Everyone has a game come to mind when they think of games that were great, but didn't sell as well as they could/should have. I usually think of:
1. Psychonauts 2. Beyond Good and Evil 3. Phantom Dust 4. Eternal Darkness 5. Godhand (can't believe I forgot to put this)
What are some games you think were/are under rated?

1. God Hand. God Hand was just an all-around fun expierience for me, and i dont see how it got scores below an 8.
2. Jehrico First, shut up. i loved this game. Second, i thought this was a solid FPS deserving a 7.
3.Bionic Commando With only complaints of clunky swing hanging, and corny dialouge, and with Otherwise solid gameplay, i would give it an 8.5.
4.Space Station Silicon Valley. An oldie, but still a fun expiereince for my N64, though the grphics are god awful, i found it to be well, deserving of a 7.5.
5.Henry Hatsworth i Really cant see how this game didnt get a 9.5. My brain hurts.

I'll just copypasta my post from a previous thread about the same subject. I personally believe that The Neverhood is the most underrated game I've ever played. IMO The Neverhood is the best point and click adventure game ever made. honorable mentions (games I doubt others will list): Dungeon Siege, Jet Force Gemini, Psi-Ops, and Um Jammer Lammy.

There was so much fun stuff in Godhand... ever since I played it, it's been my favorite game ever. I liked Clover after playing Viewtiful Joe, but I loved it after playing Godhand.

God Hand: the game was really fun IMO but it got so why did it get a score below 7 Well, what I've heard about IGN's score at least is that the 3/10 was explained by the review writer as "*sniff sniff* This game is too haaaaard! *teardrops*" ...Though I haven't read the actual review, so don't bank too much on that...

Sales != Rating
Psychonauts is not underrated, its very highly rated, nobody noticed it when it was released though, so it didnt sell until it started to get spread around via word of mouth.

Manhunt. I know I harp on it, but during its release most people said that it was all shock value and no gameplay. A couple years later I bought the game for $5 at Gamestop thinking that I wasn't going to really lose anything and hell it's a Rockstar game. It ended up being one of my best purchases ;D BTW avoid Manhunt 2 like a plague. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. one of the greatest shooters nobody's heard of... Hell it's even on gametap now. A 2007 game on gametap wtf? Jurassic Park: Tresspasser. Extremely underrated game. It was also buggy as all hell, but once you get past that it was one of the greatest technological leaps in pc and now console gaming. A damn shame it never had its time in the sun. Far-Cry (PC). This game isn't exactly an underrated game. Infact the critics praised it. "Far Cry isn't just a stunning technical accomplishment. It's quite possibly the best single-player first-person shooter experience for the PC since Half-Life." - Gamespot www.gamespot.com/pc/action/farcry/index.html?tag=result;title;2No, Farcry was never a bad game it only suffered the same fate as the first Call of Duty. No port to consoles. So what resulted were cheap remakes and rehashes to make money from the bigger console gamer market. This game is tarnished by its sequels, gaining a reputation of being lame and mediocre. Even Crytek gave up on this series and moved on to Crysis. Annnnd that's all I can think of for the moment.

Whiplash on Playstation 2
The game isn't exactly excellent...but it's better than people say it is.
It's just a good game with little bits of humour scattered throughout an overall entertaining game.

Fallout: Jesus christ, did no one play this game back in the 90's? I was like 8 when I first played that game and it blew my mind. I played it for two years straight, that and Diablo II, and then didn't play it again until two years ago, and play it on-and-off. This game is so difficult, so much fun, the graphics hold up, the menus are a little weak but great...the music was nonexistent, but alas, and the combat could end up with you taking 400 hp worth of damage, from one hit, and there are several types of enemies that pull this stuff. I'd give it a 9.5/10
Saga Frontier: The original SF was one of my favorite experiences ever, had it's own little cult following, but should've been one of the series Square focused on, rather than Kingdom Hearts or something. 8/10
Devil May Cry 2: I adore the stylish gunplay in the DMC series, but I always hated the weakness of the guns. In DMC3, I alwas was a Gunslinger and was always getting at best B's in the missions...DMC2 is a great game, despite what many people say, and if you play on the max difficulty, the gun power is nerfed slightly to the perfect point. Also, the customizability was a great addition. Mmm yes. 7/10ish, because some parts of the game are questionable.
Star Ocean: the Second Story: One of my favorite RPG's, had a great storyline (I love that sci-fi meets fantasy approach), I adore the simplistic yet fun combat, the characters were all cool and likeable, maybe except the midget scientist dude. All I know is Diaz is the coolest guy ever. 9/10
Heroes of Might Magic: Quest For the Dragon Bone Staff: Although you could include the entire HoMaM (hah) series here, this is my favorite. Had a stupid storyline, but had a really cool RTS/Tactical RPg/Adventure style of gameplay, a nice overworld, and the dialogue is hilarious. I just enjoy this game too much for it to not make this. 6.5/10
Note: These are in no particular order, the scores are based on technical stuffs, mechanics, gameplay, etc. and NOT based on fun factor, storyline, or under-ratedness.
