A poll about something that is overrated would not work. It something truly is overrated (i actually hate the term myself and cringe whenever anyone says it) then the majority of people must like it and only a minority will complain it is overrated, so they would get very little votes. If something gets lots of votes then its obviously not overrated because many people agree it isnt that good.

i totally agree with the master chief part, an over rated charactor in an over rated game. take out donkey kong and pac man and this list is ALMOST good.

IGN has no idea what a game even is anymore, they have failed, and so have the fan base who I guess voted on that poll. Hold your rage, it's not worth it.

I strongly disagree with that list. I feel that the characters on that list have either earned that hype, or haven't become hyped enough to be considered "Overrated"

Most of that list was idiotic. Kratos? What? And who has ever hyped Alter from Assassin's Creed? I've never heard anyone call him a badass, or even an interesting character. That game was about the game play (as repetitive as it was) and not the characters.



But... I jumped for joy when I saw number one. Because it's completely true.

I just can't seem to get why there's no Cloud Strife on the list, or Sephiroth for that matter.. I would've said Mario, but his games lately has actually been pretty good, and with Super Mario Galaxy 2 coming out, I don't think we''re gonna be disappointed..

YES, I have to agree with Master Chief being on the list. I totally hate how the only thing some of my friends who own 360s talk about Halo or Master Chief.

I don't really agree with Nathan Drake and Big Boss. Nathan Drake is a relatively new character in the gaming realm and isn't really an annoying trade mark like Master Chief. Big Boss is a little overused in the series, but he is a wonderfully written and developed character. If anything, I would choose Solid Snake over him; hes a lot more popular and established.

Also. Big Daddy's are enemies not characters. Atleast not until Bioshock 2 which is not out yet. How can something thats not even a character or starred as an main character be overrated.
