The mods do an excellent job moderating chat.
The only problem with the "Voiced Viewers" is that the mods only know the people that have been around since just after or even before they themselves joined, and out of those people, only a few aren't mindless raving dipshits. Like Brad and the rest of 4PP have said, it's hard to get noticed in chat these days, what with the whole part where there are five hundred viewers thirty seconds after they go live.
The simple solution is to get to know the mods via the forums (which isn't exactly the easiest thing to do, as it seems the chat mods are absent from the forums a lot of the time), or get to know them when 4PP isn't broadcasting. Stick around, hang out, be a cool dude(tte).
I have seen a rise in people whom I've never seen before being voiced, and the only explanation I've come up with was that the person asked a mod that couldn't turn them down or that they're just quiet most of the time. The former usually results in a raving lunatic while the latter is quiet most of the time and therefore doesn't actually make use of his/her voice. These are really just nit-picks, though.
I'm not convinced that there's a solution to this. Anything I come up with is full of holes. While I don't see this as being that big of an issue, and certainly not an easily fixable one, some thinking is required on it.
...Or, we could say "Fuck it," and not worry about it.
As for Fullmetalkira's post, the trouble is that the mods have to deal with five to eight hundred (and sometimes even fifteen hundred) people in chat at once. That's a lot of people for the seven or eight mods that are on (with half of them AFK) to deal with, as terrific a job as they do. Again, there's really no easy fix for this, aside from the obvious, "Make more mods," which I'm starting to think is a good idea, but it's unlikely, since basically anyone that 4PP thinks should be a mod is a mod.
...That was the Rational Ranting segment of the evening. Sorry.
