if someone wants to spend their own money on getting pro status, then let them. as long as they don't make a big deal about being a pro user or become above normal viewers, as in they become uneffected by time outs, slow mode and bans then yes, there is a problem but not to the pro people, to jtv. if pro people are above all others, even mods in a channel, then jtv will have crossed a line with how people wish to run their own channels.
basically, as long as pro users dont get any benefits that make them imune to any rules of jtv, then there should be no problem unless they act like an arrogant ass hole cause they think being pro makes them better then others, then you may treat them like crap as that is what they are, pieces of crap that think they are better then others.

I find it a bit of a joke what JTV have done to be honest, but hey they gotta make money somewhere i guess. As for the people spending their money on a monthly basis.... O.o Sorry but i don't see the point lol look at Ad Block Pro for example, JTV tried to stop that from killing the adverts but did that last long?  I'd understand if you only payed like a one off sum but a monthly fee to just have some adverts removed and some extra colors being the main features? Ok... |

Like phoenix said, people seem to think the whole point of pro is to remove ads.
Basically, Pro = Donate.
Alot of websites just have a paypal donate button and you dont get anything for donating money, JTV are just offering a little something to say thanks.
I highly doubt people will become a pro member purely for removing ads and getting new colours, they just want to support JTV because JTV needs money to run.

It doesn't bother me at all, hell, the people who react negatively towards them are the ones ringing off the bad vides if you ask me. If anything we should thank them, not only are they donating some of their money to JTV (After all, no JTV, no 4PP .... well, as we know it anyways) and they seem to bring out the idiots amongst the crowd.

Would I pay for it? Probably not. But don't pick on the JTV members that have. With JTV getting more money, maybe they can start fixing the site's flaws.

I've looked at what it offers to be a pro member...not much
No Ads:Sure they are annoying but is it really that hard to hit the X on the screen?
Chat Colors:Meh..not really that important
Pro tag:Again meh
To me its a waste of money but people will always blow their money on useless stuff...I dont hate em let them do whatever they want.Now should JTV change the way pro users are..then ya that can be a problem and alot of people will go pro (I.E unbannable,not affected by slow mode so on so forth) But again thats HIGHLY unlikely

Many people pointed out my views
They get some pretty colors and a badge and no ads, I don't mind them getting new stuff as long as it doesn't affect the community of JTV, people saying "OMG They are stealing our freedomz om nom nom" well, gtfo, they aren't, people are just jealous because pros are "Superior" in a way, that they get somethin that other people are not willing to get by paying and wanted it for free.
Just think about it, new colors and a new badge, did we have those options before? I think not.
and as long as the ads aren't of much annoyance, i don't care.
Ps.: you can even take the goddamn ads off with an add block for Cthulhus sake.
to close this argument, I have not seen any "Anti-pro" give any valid piece of argument to enforce why pros shouldn't exist.
