TIPS on how to become a 4pp regular
Note that is says TIPS, I am not going to make an in-depth guide on how to be a regular because that is about as weird as me writing a guide on how to be popular at your High School/College. I'm not going to hold your hand, but give you, the newbie, some guidelines and advice.
Before you start reading, something you should know about 4PP and Mods. The 4PP crew are NOT gods, if they mention your name on the broadcast, do not go into a crazy fit of joy. Same goes with mods, 4PP and Mods are people just like us. The only thing that makes 4PP different from us is that they have a camera/capture card. That's it.
Step 1: Your Screen name
No one is going to take you seriously if you have a screen name like "barralrollerovr9000" or "Iyamteh1337sauc3" or "powerdude34583745983570734587". Make a Screen name that makes sense and avoids huge amounts of numbers and internet meme's.
Step 2: Follow the rules
Read this, it's one of the most important steps 4ppwiki.wetpaint.com/page/The+Rules
Step 3: Make people your friends on JTV
Go threw the side bar and make everyone your friend, it helps.
Step 4: Get to know the regulars
Getting to know the mods and regular visitors of the 4PP community will get you noticed. Talk to them (like a normal human being), visit their channels when they are broadcasting, and play games with them.
Step 5: Join the forums
I'm assuming you already did, but if you didn't, JOIN!
Step 6: Never give Travis help
NEVER EVER help Travis with a video game unless he asks for it, which he won't. Your slow mode is wasted and you might get pointed out by Travis, TO'd, and get talked down to.
Step 7: Try not to get the broadcasters mixed up
Figure out the voices of the 4PP team. None of them sound the same, and if one of them is sick and sounds like someone else, they talk differently too. This isn't Bradplayerpodcast.
Step 8: Contribute
To be a recognized part of the 4PP community, contribute to 4PP. Post your art in the Art thread, Help a broadcaster with a video game if he asks for help, do whatever you can to be helpful.
Step 9: Watch/Listen to the 4PP weekly podcast
It's a great podcast, listen to it for video game news and video game politics. Listen to your own leisure too since they are long and may take two days to get through them.
Step 10: Pay attention to the view count
If there are over 1000 viewers when you log in, there's a 3/5 chance you are going to be bumped into *Room 2*. 4PP does not pay attention to room 2 so if your trying to help the broadcasters, they are not going to see your messages.
Step 11: Be classy
Be calm and cool when your in chat, it's a fun hang out, not an alleyway to play bet money and buy prostitutes.
Step 12: Slow Mode
4ppwiki.wetpaint.com/page/Slow+Mode
When slow mode is on, do not make small and useless posts like "lol". You wasted your two minutes and you'll be criticized for it.
Step 13: Useless forum posts
If someone makes a thread that involves answering a question and you do not know the answer, do not make a reply along the lines of "lol I dunno." You will be criticized for making a useless post and making the post to increase your post count. If you do not know the answer, just don't respond. (this step should be enforced for all forums you visit btw)
Step 14: ENGLISH PLEASE
When I say "English" I mean proper english. Not "I want 2 lay with u lot on it" but something around the lines of "I want to play this map with you." Stuff like "lol" and "xD" are alright if you type something with it, remember the slow mode step? (Gman Squad reference up there)
BTW, if English isn't your first language and you have trouble typing in English. Go ahead and say so, it's a valid excuse for broken text.
So here you are, some guidelines and tips to become more recognized to the 4PP community. There is more, but like I said, I'm not going to hold your hand. Figure the rest out for yourself.
These "steps" are in no particular order and I hope this guide will help you with your wishes and give 4PP some more great community members. If there is anything that you think I missed, post away!
