Toonami

The thing that first introduced me to anime, Toonami. Shows like Outlaw Star had me watching daily.

Too bad they had to turn in it to Naruto fillers for 90% of their block, and then finally kill it. Now Cartoon Network has no anime block, except Adult Swim, but even then, the only anime there is Inu Yasha.

Yea, I used to worship sailor moon, I think it was reboot, dragon ball z, evangelion(sp) and a few others but for some reason I faded away for a few years then came back to see inuyasha and then faded back away. I saw a few episodes of naruto but they were in japanese. But now that Toonami is gone and all I have to say I miss them all even the movies that they aired I miss.

Oh god, ReBoot. Pretty much the only awesome thing to come out of Canada in the 90's.

ReBoot devestated me as a kid, I always let the computer win in any game I played in fear that it would destroy my computer.

I don't remember much of reboot. But, Its was where I got started watching Gundam Wing, Outlaw star, Tenchi muyo and Sailor moon..

The fact that they've overly ran Inuyasha is the reason why I completely despise that series. They don't attempt to air shows that they have, but instead Naruto, naruto, Naruto and oh some other show that probably nobody cares about. Naruto isn't the only anime around (Stupid Cartoon Network).

Anyway....I used to watch Toonami when they had the old cartoons like Thundercats, Voltron, and....I can't remember the other shows......was it Johnny Quest? (I forget).

Edit: Right Reboot! I just remembered from reading the thread, that show was awesome to watch, Didn't they make new episodes exclusively on cartoon network?

I remembered always coming home from school, turning the TV to Cartoon Network to watch Toonami. I would watch DBZ, G Gundam, and Cowboy Bebop...even Sailor Moon when they first aired it. >_>; All the makeovers Tom went through, now he's dead. =/

It's kinda sad to see it got canceled, but I guess it had it coming since it was slowly dying.

I started watching Toonami as soon as it began. While TOM was a good host I always liked Moltar better, mainly because I used to watch Space Ghost Coast to Coast. I stopped watching it around 2002 but I owe my love of anime to Toonami. It introduced me to Mobile Suit Gundam, my all time favorite anime franchise. There were a lot of good shows that weren’t anime though like The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, Beast Wars: Transformers, ReBoot, and Batman: The Animated Series.

I completely forgot about ReBoot, great stuff. I don't think Naruto is a very good anime for little kids to watch either. Even with all the censorship.

I really need to rewatch Outlaw Star, I never got to see the ending.

Toonami was awesome way back when. It had dbz, gundam, tenchi muyo, and didn't they show that zoids show on it, cause that was pretty kool.
