The beets definitely have a strong, earthy, kinda sweet flavor. But the other stuff is quite bland (esp. the turnips). The potatoes are there for texture. The onions and carrots add to the sweetness. I just wish the whole thing didn't come out so red. I'm not a fan of monochromatic food.
I live by myself Oreo. I usually make enough to have leftovers for a few days. So, for example, I took those veggies and used them for a frittata the next morning and then stuffed some in a whole wheat pita pocket with some romaine lettuce and a drizzle of thinned out Greek yogurt for lunch.
Also, have you tried those organic oreos? The whole concept seems pretty blasphemous to me.

Aaah okay. Right now I live with one person. . .but have two others here about 5 days a week. But next semester I will be living with two others....but mostly cooking for myself. They'll be Newlyweds. You, me, and Dupree much? Anyway, I kind of thought you did, so it's nice to know you still cook a bit and make it interesting leftovers. I rarely have leftovers because of it. I'm kind of the same about monochromatic foods, lol, it's just weird for some reason. But it still looks good.
Haven't tried the organic Oreos, but I'm thinking about doing it just for kicks and giggles lol.
Made a whole chicken last night with cheap stove-top stuffing and french-style green beans. Boring~ Didn't bother with a picture, though the chicken did come out just right. Golden brown, baby!

Haven't tried the organic Oreos, but I'm thinking about doing it just for kicks and giggles lol. Organic Oreos is an oxymoron. Organic Oreos? Really? First they made Cookie Monster bitch out and become all healthy, and now Oreos? What's next, organic Doritos? The world is going to hell in a hand-basket made of recycled materials.

I'm going to kick it like oreo and just tell you what I made tonight. I'm looking at the pictures I took and it really doesn't do the food justice. Maybe this will convince me to buy that camera I've talked about getting for the past 3 years.
First I made some brown rice. To go along with it, I whipped up some chili. The chili consisted of: a bit of ground sirloin (I hadn't eaten any meat all week so I thought I would treat myself), carrots, turnips, onions, garlic, cumin, jalapenos (seeds intact), kidney beans, canned tomatoes, and some chicken stock. It turned out quite well although I paid in the end for cheating with the pre-made stock. It just lacks that "zing" that comes from homemade stock. Oh well.
For dessert I made a raspberry sorbet. It sounds fancier than it is. I just tossed some frozen raspberries, yogurt, and a bit of sugar into the food processor and hit "go." Voila! Sorbet!
Also, Oreo, I love me some roasted chicken. I like to slather on a compound butter in between the skin and meat to get it super crispy. I also throw in an insane amount of garlic cloves.

i honestly dont understand how people can eat sushi >_> What is there to not understand? 1. Pick up the food with chopsticks/ a fork. 2. Place the food in your mouth with said dining utensils. 3. Chew and swallow.
